1978 NYB Preservation Project....Sort of

The MP's pulled up while I was taking the pictures and demanded to see my ID and wanted to know why I was taking pictures. I was going to ask him if he was that FN stupid....but instead explained my FCBO friends need the pictures.
Does that mean we are now on a "watch list"? Oh well it was bound to happen with all the HC pictures... that one in the bikini is desecration of a flag all by itself...

Only if you wrap yourself in an ISIS flag.

View attachment 84259 Need some guidance fellas... So I was doing some maintenance on the car today to get it ready for Carlisle. I decided to pull the seats to clean the carpet. And lookee what I found under the driver seat frame!!!!. I was so damn excited I didn't know what to do with myself. I've had so many classics over the years and never found a build sheet in one of them. My question is, how do I preserve this? It is very brittle to say the least. I'm not looking to frame it or anything like that, I just want to keep it together and flatten it out so it's a viewable. Thoughts?
Flatten it out in between the pages of a big book for a week and then insert it into one of those clear plastic 3 ring binder sleeves for documents and then back in between some heavy books for safe keeping and protection from damaging uv.

I would also make multiple color copies of it. Might be able to turn up the contrast to get a better image of the lettering when making copies.

I would think it needs a bit of humidity to make it a little more pliable, so it doesn't just break apart, like steaming wood.

Congradulations, great find...!
Be sure the clear file sleeve is an acid free material. Make good quality copys and store the original in a dark, dry place, with your title. The copy's are great for display and writing what each code means.

Funny... When I was in the Navy, I was military police and used to be that guy. Lol. You were in, so you know the boys are just doing their job.

Yep, but these guys see me and the car every day on the Proving Ground. LOL!

Well....I finally got the replacement vinyl top from SMS. Just under a year to receive it. I haven't taken it out of the box to see if it's been cut to fit a Dodge Colt or if it is the right color and pattern material this time. Too late this year to even consider swapping tops.

I'm going to say, based on their excellent track record so far... you should really take a moment and at least make sure you didn't get another Charger roof covering.:)

I'll probably do that later today.

Right now it's 38 degrees in the People's Republic of Maryland.

Yeah... I'd be eyeballing it through the window too...

It is going to get to the mid 60's near 70 mid week but we are suppose to get 4"-6" of rain Tuesday to Thursday. Can't win with the weather this fall in the Mid Atlantic.

And you guys keep on reminding me all winter long why I'm in Florida... Summertime... not always the same story.

Yep, and I hate it but Im probably stuck here. Too many roots, kids, grand kids, parents, siblings. Id like to chuck it all and move west and sell bait at a roadside stand under a tent but thats probably not gonna happen.

I'm currently able to utilize Johns Hopkins Hospital and services until I'm dead....

If I move I'll lose the Tricare Prime Plus and will be forced to use the VA Hospital.

I'm not going to move.....

If I had to move it would be to Green Bay.
