1978 Plymouth Fury 3. 440 engine. Runs good. 727 automatic transmission. Dana 60 rear end. Big disc brake package. Lot of things on this car I've never seen. Like power steering cooler. And more. Three vin tags. Body is a rust bucked. I bought it for the drive train. Ended up selling the car I was going to put it in. I have drove the car. Engine and drive train works good. Or best offer. 803-385-(see ad) Kevin

Seller said 3 fender tags....where is the picture(s)????

I doubt it has Dana 60....in a 78 B-Body.

Hey Hey, if it's a real cop car, last of the big blocks even with the square headlights! w00t!

:steering:

You are correct, '78 was the last 440 equipped Cruiser. This one has also got the big alternator used on many cruisers. I assume the seller is taking about 3 build tags, not Vin tags. One would be the "Special Order Tag". The power steering cooler was also an option. A highly optioned cruiser could have two build tags in addition to the SO tag. This example appears to have had a vinyl top at some point, (rear sill trim for the top is still there) an odd option for a cruiser. The Dana 60 is a possible option but not common on cruisers. I would also wonder how long it has been since this unit has ran as it shows extensive rust from extended outside storage. Would be likely to have a seized engine at this point. With 180k on the odometer it probably does not have the factory 440 either. A lot of the M class cruisers had 400 Lean burns in them to start and had a 440 installed to improve performance when the vehicle went thru a rebuild. Most of the time factory crate motors either 400 or 440 would be installed as part of a rebuild.

Photos of the build tags would be helpful to determine the actual factory options on the car.

At this asking price, it would be highly unlikely that this vehicle would pan out for parts as the running gear is the only thing of value on the car and good cores are not going to be worth anywhere near that amount.
