No thanks to you, BUDDY! :soapbox::icon_fU:

Yah, I'm beating up myself bad on this one but I just laid out 12 grand :wideyed: on a whole house automatic generator and several grand to replace damaged landscaping. Thanks, Irma.

So, 2 out 3. No money and space.
12G'z????? You takin' on the responsibility of lightin' up the whole city of Sebring? I put ah 7.5K generator from Cosco with the automatic power transfer set up in our Ponderosa in Michigan that ran the whole house including the two garage door operators and heat and A/C in the Pole Barn by a licensed union payin' membered electrician and total cost only $4400? Oh yeah? I did form the slab and throw 7 bagz of Create mix in it and float it for 'um, woopie

Well, there ya go. Mine is 20K with 6 day underground propane tank
So mine is bigger than yours and I can go longer... :poke:
O.K. so there you go. Guess you decorate your place at Christmas time so it can be seen from space and I only hang a wreath under my porch lite. But I don't know about the 6 day supply of fuel. I had the luxury of feeding my generator with Natural Gas that waz piped in, soooo? Regardless, You'll like what you've got Pal and every once a week when it fires up to let you know you have that ace in the hole you'll feel all warn 'n fuzzy, Jer

Yea but it'll be like after the 04' hurricanes, we may not see another one for over a decade, by then he'll be sick of the weekly startups. But... he is in a tornado sit'chee'achun so hope you got it anchored down real gud!

Don't worry too much about Stan, he's got the place well situated from what I can figure... Heck, there might even be an old bomb shelter out in the weeds somewhere nearby...

Go ahead. Mock my self-sufficiency. When I'm last man standing, you'll all be banging on my door begging for food, water, and internet access to FCBO.

Is an underground propane tank typical? That's not how they do it up here.
In my neighborhood there are no natural gas lines so one has to chose between diesel, or propane. For a residence, propane is the no brainer. Almost every residence uses underground propane tank storage. Hank Hill would do vey well here.

The BIG benefit of propane is it will never go bad, also it will never corrode the tank from the inside. Underground propane storage is very safe, propane is heavier than air... so even if a leak did occur, you are safer with the tank underground.

Burying it below a frost line... that's a lot more work and $$... which I suspect is why you guys don't see it as much.
