This is a rust free car that has been sitting indoors and not operated for 23 years. It is probably a detectives car because of the interior. It is black and dent free except 2-3 door dings, has a near perfect interior, trunk pan is really clean and has nice carpet. Carpet in car is nice also. Car has a brand new radiator and all the water goes straight to the oil pan. Probably a blowed head gasket. It has no water now and has fresh oil in it and will start and is drivable to put on a trailer. Car will be sold with a bill of sale because the former owner is deceased and title was lost. It is all there including cop wheels and 2 sets of cop hub caps. Bring a trailer and haul this baby home. Any questions, just call

Not likely to be a stock cruiser interior (too pimpish), no title, dead motor. Not much going for this one as a project, but it is probably worth close to the asking price as a parts car to someone who needs it.

Pimpish? heh wouldn't thought that, just standard Chrysler fabric with what appears to be no 'weapon wear'. Now that 1976 Gran Fury = Hippie/badacidtrip/greek/dumb&dumber...

Not up on the M class Cert Speedo's. 125mph Rare?

Water straight to oil pan is I think a little more than a head gasket, more like cracked block from probably freezing up. why they would put a brand new radiator in it if it was that serious god only knows.

I just seen some clean used FBI cars on that ProxBid site. Still had the well built in divider.
Now that would be the Ultra-Uber vehicle to freak out the trendies & bangers

Pimpish might have been too strong a term. It is a 100k car so it is likely the seat fabric was replaced at some point. Police agencies liked dark colors for their interior fabric, such as brown, tan or black with the occasional dark blue thrown in. Can't tell from the photo if this one had the plastic bad guy seat in the back or not. The occupants of the rear seat tended to leave piss, puke, blood and other bodily fluids on the seats which was why dark colors were usually the order of the day. Detectives and other" higher ups" usually had about the same cruisers as other officers except that they often did not have the 'Black & White' paint jobs and other exterior police markings, tended to be low profile cars.

These cars came with either the slant six or a 318 LA series engine. The 125 mph speedo was probably very optimistic.

Stock non-pursuit speedo went to 85 mph, so the 125 mph in the M is like us finding the 140mph speedo.

Thought I saw only too 120 on the PD M class cert, gotta pay attention more.
Around that era I got a speeding ticket for 79mph, City cop on the Interstate was pissed, sed his speedo only went to 80mph (unmarked) and I was well above that!
Went to court & requested Cert paper for speedo, next court cop didn't show, dismissed. :p

the M body squads were fairly spry for their era. ive been happy with all i have owned.

this one? as already stated. some good parts here.

The book says M-body top speed from this era was around 120 MPH for the police 318 4-bbl. I never got more than 105 MPH from my 1988 Diplomat and it took a long time to get there.
Cert Speedos; 125mph Rare?
A rare speedometer from this era would be the 125 MPH certified unit from an R-body: it was only offered from 1979-'81.
