I can"t remember if police dippies had the word "Interceptor" on them....or was that reserved for CVPI's only?

We've had this discussion before....isn't interceptor a Ford term?

The term "Interceptor" and "Police Interceptor" are trademarked Ford terms, and have been since after WWII. The Chrysler terms are "Police Pursuit" and "Police Patrol", depending on the engine and other options.

Ummmmm I beg to differ, my 79 300 has what was officially called a " 360 Police Interceptor" engine in it.

What said "360 Police Interceptor" on your car??? I'd need to see something that says that in the paperwork, or evidence on the car itself. It wouldn't be on a cop car, and certainly would not be on a 300. The E58 360 is a cop motor, yes, but Chrysler did not use the term "Interceptor". That is a trademarked Ford term; evidenced to this day on the back of all cop-spec Ford police units.

I stand corrected its not on anything I could find. I guess people just called it that, and it stuck in my head, so i did the research.
On the front of my valve covers there are stickers that day "Premium 360 Engine"

Thank you very much. I'll come back just because folks on this forum are too nice to walk away from. Thank you for your offer but no need to damage your car.
I do like the CVPI's and other Panther platform models. They were the last traditional American cars and are today what our C-Bodies were in the eighties

Worthless... I agree... But I'm a Formal guy where we still PM each other the sub $4000 cars and figure the seller still has room to go lower...
