Hey guys, I have a 68 newyorker, iam trying to redo it, it sat in a barn for 40 years , and rats got to it. I have two holes with tubes sticking out of the firewall , with nothing coming out or nothing hooked to them. Can anyone tell me what they are for.

As said, a picture will go a long way to help us help you.

Other info is good too. Like does the car have air conditioning? The best thing is to lay out as much info as you can. At least you've said year, make and model.

That said... Passenger side? Two copper looking tubes about 3/4" in diameter? Those are for the heater hoses.

The hoses are hooked up in this pic I shamelessly stole off the intrawebs.

I have a cd manual, it’s a 2 door 68 440 motor, factory air. The holes are towards the bottom of the firewall , when I get home I’ll take a couple of pics. Thanks .

If it's toward the bottom of the firewall I'm guessing you are not referring to these.

If it these two they go to the heater valve that controls the coolant going into the heater core.

Another picture for reference.

If it isn't any of these and they are located behind the engine just about the lip that the arrow points to in the picture below then they are the drains for AC evaporator.

BTW these pictures are from my 68 NYer. More pictures can be found in this thread.

These are the holes, they’re toward the transmission slot in the firewall. The third pic it might be hard to tell. Thanks
