I'm going to check out a few 05-08 Dodge Magnums this weekend. Anyone out there have one or with previous experience to share? What should I look for? Anything to avoid? Most of them have high mileage (130K+), is that good, bad or no worries? I'd like to avoid a junker, but don't want to pay too much. Thanks in advance for any input.

I personally like the 08 the best. Stay away from the 6cyl , you will be highly disappointed with the power, especially after driving a 5.7.

I also don't like the 05... Something about the first year and that little rt emblem on the tailgate I don't like

Yes, I was concerned with the first year model, but they don't seem to change much until 2008. I have not driven anything with a 5.7 yet, is it that much different than the 3.5? How are the transmissions in these things? I've had nothing but bad luck with the mini-vans after 100K. The over-drives get tired and tend to quit.

Can't answer that..... I went looking several years ago to get rid of the truck and use the Magnum. I test drove a bunch , that was my first experience with the 5.7. I was hooked. Then completely disappointed with the 6.
After a dealer used my four hour drive and late arrival to go see a brand new 08' as leverage to sell one to another guy I stopped looking at them.

So I guess it was about five / six years ago...

I still want an 08 R/T... In Blue

I'm looking at an 06 R/T in red and another in silver. Then there is this one, but it is in GA:

I need an RT with the wheels and Sunroof.... I like the silver, blue and black. That's the only colors that will do.
We saw a mustard brown color the other day......oooooff

Pffffftt add a grand to it and I'll sell ya my '05 with a mere 70K on the clock. Originally a Sw car. Never seen snow, and for sure never seen a NE salted road. Only thing I don't have is NAV and the entertainment system.

You'll be able to see it screaming by on its way to Maryland in two weeks...

It do drive like a rocket ship.

I'd go with the 5.7 and if you keep it stock she'll pull 25 mpg highway. The front ends will need some work at a 100k or at least the last 2 we had did. The srt8 version is the most fun but are pricey. The tranny went out on one with 110k but we were not very nice to it.
Here's my sons 300c with 110k on the motor.

Yo Dave. 27 of 'um on eval bay rite rite now. 4 SRT8's 10 RT's. The other half are 3.5L and 2.7L. Ah Magnum for every budget and the price of ah plane ticket away HEY, THAT COULD BE MY NEXT WAGON, UH-RAH!

They are a lot of fun with a V8. My sons has srt8 exhaust manifolds and mids with a slp exhaust,cam,cia,tuner,srt8 rearend, axles, and a new tranny that is setup to be beat on. We did all the work except for the tranny as it came from some shop from Ohio. His mpg went from 25 plus to 22 not to bad but it could be better.

So many to choose, I think I can wait for the right one local to me. A modern BAT-WAGON would be cool!

I like 25 mpg, it's the reason I decided not to get a small truck. I still have a 35 mile (each way) commute every day, and the mini-van barely gets 20. With the wagon I could haul stuff and family, and still hook up a small trailer if needed. I saw a few with the factory tow package.

I'm kicking myself for NOT buying one new.
It would be eating Ross' Chally for breakfast right now. Lol!

That's exactly what it was. If I don't do it once a day, he'll lose his motivation to be , hmmm... Unique?

I absolutely LOVE my 2007 R/T. Hemi gets 24 MPG highway and about 18 combo (city). I ran it in the 1/4 mile and ran 14.30 with a lot of tire spin. It has lots of room and drives nice.
