I'd be very interested in yours if I could figure out what bringing it back stateside entailed . I like the car and the price is right as Bob Barker would say !

I'm looking at a 70 300 too which I would really like to have but I like both of these too .

You will need a broker to import the car to the US. I can arrange shipping to Montana at your cost. PM me for more info.

I'm hearing something here.
Hello?
:poke:

Lol I had to charge Peter a doc fee on the Durango as per the Owner’s directive. No one gets exempted even staff. He has let people walk away over it. Normally we have enough margin to absorb it but because I sell to Peter at cost there was no room to eat it.

If I owned the store it wouldn’t be an issue...:(

No broker needed if he comes up and brings it across himself. As a matter of fact if he wanted to, he could put it into an enclosed trailer I know is available, designed for a C-body, to haul it home. Reasonably priced, too.

Now that is the way to do it.......pay someone else a fee to deal with it. How much does this usually run Dobalovr? Any idea?

The broker fees aren’t bad $250 i think. The transport to the holding yard in Sweetgrass would be about $1000 from Calgary

I know a guy....:)

Grayham,
I have a great idea for a thread, Since you are so knowledgeable, a dealer, and such a great guy. When you get some time, how about putting the procedure together on how to bring a car from Canada to the United States. We uneducated guys that live in the states would love to get our hands on some of that great Canadian iron you have running around up there.

Therein lies the problem. $2750+1000+250+transport from border to house+tax, title and reg fees= almost twice the cost of the car. Still reasonable but no longer a steal.

hmm .. my math is a bit different

All $USD estimates for planning, for me as buyer:

Acquisition Cost: $2750
Calgary to SweetGrass MT (200 miles/open/$1.50 mile): $300
Broker fees (ssuming no other regulatory issues) : $250
Sweet Grass MT to Detroit (1,800 miles/open/recent similar move of an "in op" from Oregon): $1,200

Taxes/fees, etc less relevant to me to since that would happen for any car.

So I get $4,500 estimate. I do that deal ALL day long for this car as its described in this thread. Seems "fair" as a "buy to drive" deal.

"Flippers"? they like to double their money, so probably not so good for them.

I saw the $1000 to move from Calgary to Sweet Grass .. or ~$760 USD, or $3.50/mile -- that seems pretty high if open or closed transport, but I dunno and would have to dig into that.

Anyway my 2 cents.

That’s a great idea! Most of my experience is with new vehicles but I will try and put something together. Unfortunately there are several opinions on what “can” be done versus what
“should” be done to avoid unnecessary complications at the border.
@Tobias74 moves cars back and forth several times a year so he has enlightened me on whats the best method.

This one is way to nice for any of you experts to own, i am still waiting for one of you experts to nitpick a very very nice old car, hurry there is still time to show your mental age. It is not rocket science at all to import or export a car, no one is going to provide the lazy folks a tutorial

Why is it that every post you write is exactly the same?!?

OK I'll have a go...

Stated on BaT car was just sold on eBay for 8k, I couldn't find the completed sale, so just sold could be whenever.
Seller really isn't a dealer but a flipper of 1,2,3, cars a month by his own admission on BaT
I think seller said he did quite a bit of work to make this his 'daily driver'.
Awful lot of repair invoices for a 20k mileage car, I'd look at that very closely as to the way the invoices are arrange in the picture I can not see any mileage on the bills.
Car topped at $10k Seller said reserve was $15k, commentators on BaT think $20k+
I agree the car is a very clean and well kept car but 20k miles?

Looks & see,

OIL.PAN.002.jpg

Laff, over at BaT they are still speculating on how the pan got crushed. Even Stevie Wonder can see it would be caused by a floor jack. If I bought the car to flip, this would be the first thing to correct. oh and BTW way to much oil grime on that pan for a 20k car.

00_WAY.TOO.MUCH.GRIME.jpg

Way to much grime on rear differential, even if the car had a rear main seal leaking from day one I don't think the buildup wouldn't be this much. Again 20k should be 'Pristine'.

01_APPARENT.GAS.TANK.REPAIR.jpg

Hoky repair of the gas tank sending unit? And a Cherry Bomb on a $20k car?

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

That car will be sitting on their lot for years......
