I am curious to see the tag too, its there in the engine bay pic but you can't read it. A 383-2 was available with a 4-speed in 68, but even more rare than a 4bbl 4-speed. I don't think the K-Code 440 was available with the 4-speed.

It looks like someone may have made the carpeted pieces after the fact but the rest of the console looks right. You can see the top of the molded plastic body rear of the lid in between the seats.
