The VIN posted in the ad cannot be correct, as the sequence has one digit too many. This said, assuming that the VIN is CM23U0C194025 , I don't think it is a known car -- it is not in the directory posted by @Trace 300 Hurst

The VIN is 194402, which was indeed formerly owned by a Jay Fischer. I have no VON or Door Date info, but we can be quite sure it is a March build because 194407 is confirmed as a March car.

CM23U0C194402 it is, then -- thank you for checking!

I've had this "Dead-End VIN" for some time, along with about 280 others which show nothing but a list of known Hurst VINs with some names of (possibly former) owners. But now that we know this car actually still exists I will add it to the Registry.

FWIW

193270 has 216 SPD.
194402
197614 has 223 SPD.

So, did that batch of Hursts have mid February VIN assignments but March door decals?

Those two VINs with SPD are not Hursts, correct?

Your point about 194402 a likely February build......but getting a March Door Date once back from Hurst is probably the case. Good observation and I shouldn't have said "March build", but March Door. So does this give a window into a 2-4 week window for Hurst turnaround?

Also, I'm going to CopyPaste the last few posts about 194402 to the Registry thread. This info is directly related to "finding Hurst batches" among the 80,000-ood CM23 VINs.

I was unaware of your registry. I have CM23UOC226728, which has console, tilt-telescopic column with rim blow, and AM/FM search tune radio. Originally sold out of Griffith Motors in Denver Colorado to Richard and Betty Rhodes on 12/3/1970. They traded a 67 Plymouth 2dr hardtop.

You'll soon be in the Registry! Can you give a picture of your Fender Tag and your Door Sticker, which shows the VON and manufacturing date respectively, please? That is key info to the Registry, along your description of console, tilt, radio etc. And what is the condition of your car? Original engine, etc. Anything more that you want to add would be great. Pictures, pictures!

Also, your car is two VINs "older" than my (former) car. I was 226726, and the VON was J99786.

Much thanks for chiming in with your Hurst!

Here's a link to the Registry thread if you haven't found it yet. I recall now that you were talking about a pinstripe kit a few months ago...I should have pinged you and asked about your Hurst.

The S.O. for the car is 125-CC-J99788 (on window sticker). Vehicle order number on the Broadcast sheet says 125J99788. After Mr. Rhodes passed, the car was sold to fellow Colorado resident Howard Long of Golden, CO. in 1989. I purchased the car from Howard in 2000. I have pretty much every piece of paper that came with the car originally, along with all service records from those owners. Mr. Rhodes even kept a small booklet in the glove box going back to the first tank of gas he purchased for the car on Dec 4th, 1970, when he put 19 gallons in the new tank! It is a very clean, original car. Gold paint on the fiberglass areas is dull/faded compared to the paint on the metal surfaces, but I really can't bring myself to touch it (the old saying, they're only original once). It still has the original spare tire which has never been removed from the original position in the trunk, same with the jack, of course. Only slight warpage of the trunk lid, and the wing has no aftermarket bracing. Some time in the mid 2000's I did remove the heads for a valve job as I floated a valve slightly while burying the speedometer needle on the highway, which led to a loss of compression in cylinder #4.
I'll try uploading a few photos, but I'm not too swift at the computer stuff.
