360 to 440 swap help with shifting linkage

The short linkage is the original for the 360 car. The longer came hooked to the trans and is original to the 440. Which linkage should be used? Maybe im over thinking the problem.

Stick with what came with the 440.

Use the linkage for the car. All the case mounting points, shift levers and trans mount bolts are the same from all trans missions. Big block, small block, 727, 904, they all connect at the same places. Brackets and linkages are vehicle specific.
That specific lever can probably be compensated by the adjustment on the column rod.

For kickdown linkage generally stick with what the engine came with.
But for shifting linkage, use what came with the car.
As 70bigblockdodge said, all the mtg points are the same whether a SB 727 or a BB 727, so the car doesn't know the trans has been changed, so no need to change that lever.
