56 New Yorker cheep

So if a #1 condition is worth around $57,000 then how much do you think needs to be spent on this to get it there? Would that be any less if at #2 and $38,000? I see $40,000 of work here from where I am sitting. Rust, Body/Paint, Interior and Mechanical at 10K each and I may be low on a few.
AFAIAC... it would be a labor of love. Maybe something that a person with some abilities and little cash could get a start on. At least the real NY pics show an interior that could be used for patterns and maybe trim... the Imp shown first had nothing that looked reusable. I hate to admit it, but restoring has become a losing proposition for many, many cars. I still want to believe a skilled person could make a decent driver out of this, but if they wanted her to go back to original... they'll be upside down fast.

If i was 20 years younger....
And there lies one of the biggest problems today.
All these cars have deteriorated to "junk" status which makes restoring them strictly out of love and unrealistically deep pockets.
Those guys with that combination are gone/disappearing.

A slightly better start as there is less difficult rust, yet...

I like yours better as she's slightly more complete... both would be too much $$ and man hours to be profitable (just my guess)... both still require the person who loves them, otherwise they're likely restomod material or worse. Problem is, too much of the restomod/ratrod crowd seems to want to start with a cleaner car too.
