bought a 6 pack last year then had it rebuilt by a known rebuilder and had intake blasted to clean it up...setup is basicly like new condition with all springs and assessories...had planned to use it on my 70 project but car is a survivor so cant realy touch it....then planned to put it on my 71 gt but the GT is to unique to be screwin around with to much so am thinking about throwing the six pack up on ebay...know what lve got into it but am wondering what the going rate is for a oem 6 pack set up is running these days?

Thanx kindly

Nice looking set-up, people are cheap these days so they likely won't pay what it's worth, twelve to 1500?

Do you have an air cleaner for it? I know they are available separately, but that would help get you a little more.

Beautiful setup. Sadly I think you're gonna have to take a loss.
Add up your receipts and list it at that price with a Best Offer. And I appreciate your choices on what to do with your cars.

thought longggggggggg and hard about it...the more l read the more l learned...thought the GT super commando engine would accept the 6 pack without many mods however have learned a few mods will be required..ie would have to change rods and would need a special damper from what l understand...then theres my location and trying to keep carbs workin right re elevation changes...would make me crazy trying to tune carbs
also didn't like idea of messin around with internals to much...belive me would love to slap a 500ci+ monster with alum heads in there with a six pack..honestly who wouldn't
alas reality kicks in...will restore..do a couple creature comfort mods and leave the car alone
as for six pack more than likely would take a loss or could just sit on it for few years..whats done is done..move on

There is absolutely no benefit to running the over priced...and worthless (In my opinion) "6Pk rods". They are heavier then the stock 440 HP rods, and not really any stronger, so really a waste of time. As for another balancer....not needed since you can just keep your bottom end all together. Just slap the intake and carbs on your 440 and go.

As for carb adjustments. Your not going to get away from that with just a 4bbl. Probably be just as much issue with driveability and performance with a 4bbl, as opposed to a 2bbl. On a properly set-up 6 Pk set up you should never be running on anything but the center 2bbl carb. And under WOT the fine tuning of the outboard carbs is really a moot point. IMO But Alberta doesn't have a ton of elevation changes...;)

It would be awesome on the GT.

You absolutely do not need to change to the 6 Pak Rods or go to the external damper required for those rods. If your 71 SC is running fine and in good shape you should be able to run this setup. Are you running the original cam .. should be fine when tuned ie carb and ignition. Can't speak to the elevation

I sent you a PM if you want to give me a call.

You definitely do not need or want the heavy "six pack" rods. Of all the 440 engines I've taken apart, the ones with broken rods were always the heavy rod engines.

The 69 A12 Roadrunner/Superbee used the conventional rods and crank. No heavy rods there!

FWIW, I ran many street miles and a lot of track time with the six pack and never used the heavy rods. Never broke a rod!

The only thing I've ever noticed about using the six pack setup was you really needed to run a low rear end gear... like a 3.55:1 to 4.10.. if you wanted the six pack to really hit you in the butt... It needed the extra gear to get the air flowing through the engine and open the end carbs. It will still work with a higher rear end gear, it just won't perform to its capabilities.

Bolt it on and try it... What's the worst that could happen?

Just plop those three deuces on any nice 440 and don't worry about it.
Yes, I said three deuces

Jeeze Derek. It took you 4 months and 128 posts to figure that out?

I personally take it we protect our own and eat our young if necessary when they are in misery.

No need to change the rods or damper. You have an Edlebrock manifold which was only used on the 69 A12 cars which used the standard but shot pened 440 HP rods. It's the main reason the 1969 A12's were so much quicker. The heavier (6bbl/six pack), rods were used in 70 -71, likely for warrantee reasons.

The holley 2bbl carbs are really easy to live with once setup, as long as you stick to the vaccuum actuated secondaries.

But I think your choice to keep the GT more original is a wise one.
A new aftermarket 6bbl set up like you show will set you back around $2500.00.
List it on ebay with a reserve or a BIN option.
