60s music

Plus his Version of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails recorded at the end of his life. Sends me shivers down the spine sometimes.

Not being from the U.S. you may not understand, just put up Ragged old Flag....Cash discussion over.

This is a great '60s music thread and as a giant music lover I would never dis any of it but there is some absolutely fantastic music being made right now as we speak. This is also true of the last decade and the decade before that, etc.. Most of it doesnt get played on the radio though except for on NPR on the weekends. Check out Austin City limits from time to time, I have been introduced to many great bands by watching that show.
All right, I'm done. Back to your regularly scheduled '60s music program...
Country was at its best from it's birth till the late '70s or early '80s, IMO.

While I can't list a favorite band as I said I think I can list my favorite song. Everytime I hear this song on my ipod, while driving, it brings on a big smile and the urge to put the peddle to the metal. If I am lucky enough to have a death bed then this song would be the last one I would want to hear before closing my eyes... and it is the Beach Boys "I Get Around"

My opinion on those two are they have been beaten to death , then and now.... 409 or LDC I almost never hear but wont change the dial when I do..

I take it you ain't a big fan off jc or the beachboys .:yaayy:

Love Johnny Cash, met him once at his museum in Nashville. . . David Allen Coe, met him at a local Country bar. He played for a couple hours there. Waylon Jennings, met him at the Valley Forge Music Fair, that was cool.... Charlie Daniels, met him at the Fan Fair festival in 92'.
Beach Boys? Sure, well, not really. They have a few songs, like I said Deuce Coupe, 409 , shut down and In My Room that I enjoy but another playing of Good Vibrations I may have to swallow a bullet

You hardly here the beach boys on the radio because of Rita ora lady ga ga and one direction ,And all that other bullshit that's sang nowadays ,transport me back to the 60s ,Please

My garage has a variety of stuff. From the fifties through the 90's. The 90's stuff is mostly country by traditional artists and Then there's the Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds stuff...BUT probably mostly 70s stuff I suppose.
The Beach Boys stuff you speak of is heard relentlessly at car shows, amusement parks and radio stations. I get that its " feel good" music but its just beaten because it doesnt seem to be recognized that there were other songs by them.
