61 Fury-the colder the weather the slower the blinkers blink

SO, quick question regarding my 61 fury. As the temperature drops my blinkers get slower and slower until they blink no more but just stay fully lit until I turn off the blinker. Granted it's only when it's very cold that they stay fully lit, say in the 30's but Is this normal when cold weather happens or is something that I can fix. Thank you.

The obvious follow up to this question is to replace the blinker first.

If I had to guess, I'd say the flasher is going bad. This is a cheap and easy part to replace, so I'd try that first.

After that, it's all looking at the wiring, switch and grounds.

I have a new flasher that Iv'e not installed yet, but it's just weird since they work perfectly during warm weather, April thru Oct from 2019 & April thru Oct. 2020.

Lube the flasher bearing.

Remember, the flasher is a thermal device, when it is warm outside, it will heat up and break the contacts faster.

Don't forget to check the blinker fluid level, too!!

In all seriousness, the flasher works as the bimetallic strip heats and bends due to the heat - and if it doesn't work well when cooler out, that's the logical step. (Not that logic is often seen here.)

Have you changed your blinker fluid from summer to winter? The colder temps affect the capacitor lumens. I think 45 lumens is the correct type for temps down to -30.

It's probably the flasher unit actually....

Actually I had a Similar Problem with a 265 Hemi Centura many years ago.
Drove me Crazy Till I replaced the Can.

Yes, along with the ZDDP additive, replace voltage regulator, GM ignition module, amp meter bypass and green axle bearings! LOL
