Here is the text before advert disappears:

Selling an original 1962 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron four door hardtop in Formal Black. The body is rustfree with no dents.
The car was in a heated basement since 1990. According to the salvage company picking up the car is was near a heater
and it cracked the windshield and damaged the paint on the passenger side. The 413 V-8 engine runs well, installed new
plugs, wires, points, and carburetor was rebuilt. Transmission works fine but there is no brakes. I installed four new whitewall
radial tires. Exhaust is in good condition and quiet. Interior will need to be restored. Options include PS, PB, Power Windows
and Vent Windows, 6 way Power Seat, Door Edge Guards. Needs more work to make it road worthy. There were only 1,449
LeBaron models built in 1962. Salvage company told me the car had Kennedy family provenance. The prior registered owner
passed away and I haven't investigated the relationship further.

A heater did that much damage?, the lenses are bloody melted!
Other than that, a very nice Imperial, but a bit pricey.

Is it better to have new tires and no brakes than old tires and good brakes???

the car runs great!!! It just can't stop!!!
It looked damned good until it crashed through the guard rail!

Silver interior!:wideyed:

Probably like a game of "Telephone," wherein, "Gee, didn't the Kennedys have one just like this?" becomes fact. Well, they almost did. The Imperial website has pix of the Kennedys getting into a '61 LeBaron...

So, if they had a '61 then there is a chance that they got the new model in '62...but was this '61 actually owned by the Kennedy family?

Doubtful, looks like standard issue government surplus. If you were president would you use your own vehicle?
Probably secret service car.
