65 fury

The REAL issue with seeking to maintain 14" wheels/tires is plain, 'ole availability. Either you buy repro tires for over $200.00 each or you get some Hankook's for around (less than, generally) $100.00 each. Hard to justify that higher repro price for a daily-use vehicle . . . at least to me.

@Mopar Jim did such an upgrade to his '68 Fury convertible. 17" VN501s and BFG Comp-2 P235/75R-17 tires. The BFG has since upgraded the tires to Comp-2 A/S PLUS. I sent him a PM and his reply is attached. "Modern rubber" that is less expensive than BFG Radial T/As.

From my research, the "revs/mile" of that size of tire is very close to the OEM G78-14 size your car might have come with. You can also search the forums using his name to see the actual thread and pictures. Shop the sales in the coming weeks!

Enjoy!

Hi, I did 235/60/15. Speedo is off a little 2 MPH. tires don't rub on front or back but I wouldn't go much wider. Tires are Cooper Cobras, wheels are Torq Thrust. Put them on 3 1/2 years ago, $800 total rims and tires. $100 each tire, $100 each rim.
