65 Polaras have never been a favorite, but for some reason this one really appeals to me. Really does look laser straight and very nice in the photos. Seller says no disappointments and I'm thinking he's telling the truth. What do you guys think of this one and the most it would be worth? One guide (CCMR) has a #2 at $8900. Would anyone here go that high? I'm thinking of looking at it...if time allows. Going to be kind of tough with Christmas.

No interior or under hood pics is worrisome.

Interior and engine bay pics are in the listing Fratzog...Click on link and scroll over under the photos. I only pasted one of the photos...the e-bay ad has many.

Do you only kinda like it or is this the one?

For the money this car will ultimately get, rightfully or wrongly, you have to really love this car.

You make a good point Stan...I'm planning to talk to the owner to see what he wants for it...and then it will probably be quite obvious what to do.

Nice car, but it isn't in anywhere near #2 condition, a weak #3 from what I've seen.

Its nice if it had the 413 it would be really with considering

I found some real nice Polaras on Fossil cars in nice shape 65 coupes with 383 and 413 auto and 66 w 440 auto. i notice people on Fossil Cars want crazy money for 72 73 Chargers w 318 engines 17k to 25k thats crazy

65 500...What makes you think it's a weak #3? I saw the worn armrests...what else? I was thinking a solid #3. I know it's hard to tell until one sees it person though.

check for rust. it's a new york car. pitted trim tag might be a bad sign.

Just going by this:
http://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/Articles/2004/10/17/Car-Conditions-What-The-Numbers-Mean

Which isn't exactly what I had in mind when I said it looked like a weak #3 to me, but it's close enough.
Not keeping in mind that pictures hide a lot, and keeping in mind that I'm referring to a car that is stock, the worst part of the car is the engine compartment, like they usually are. From the little detail of the trim that can be seen the tail light bezels are pitted. The instrument bezels are faded, the front seat cover doesn't match the back seat cover, the antenna is missing, it has some aftermarket radio hanging under the dash, the carpet doesn't fit well, according to the fender tag the car came without a radio, the one in the dash may have been dealer installed, and is not the same as a factory radio. The engine compartment has numerous issues that I won't bother to go into unless you want me to, because I think I made my point. Like I said, it's a good looking car, but in my opinion it's far from a #2.
Oh yeah, and the wheels. The car isn't supposed to be 2-tone either, not that it looks bad.

The owner said he'd send more photos but I've seen nothing yet. He may have sensed my disinterest after he told me his reserve. Now that the auction is over I think it would fine to share that info...$13500 so I don't hold much hope in getting it for 9k.

I seem to miss inadequacies in the engine bay all the time and I don't know enough to decode body tags. I would have never known that the car left the factory without a radio. I should have noticed the aftermarket radio under the dash though...Saw the pitting on the tail light bezels...Thanks 65 500...I appreciate your keen eye. Too much $$. I'd be upside down as soon as I bought it.
