Looking for some help with identifying the color of the original steel wheels on my 65 SF Convertible restoration project. I was looking to have these repainted black when I realized that the inside color on these are a dark green, outside are black. I can't find any information on why this would have been done this way or a color code to replicate what was done originally at the factory. I know these were not painted by anyone over the years because this car was ordered by my father in 1965 and we have had it ever since, he is still alive and this was not something that he had done. Photos attached any help understanding this is appreciated.

Had two SF and never saw green, always black. Looks like the inside is the same as the engine color. Personally, I would think green would look out of place!

I dont really have an answer for you, but most of the underside of the body on my '64 Belvedere is a greenish gray color. The car is and was original WW1 white.

Its def a dark green color and a car with drum brakes you probably wouldn't even notice unless you saw it when the car was brand new.

I was thinking maybe it was a primer or something and they left it unfinished because drum brakes hide it but no sign of that green color in the center part of the wheel. It shows up best on the spare tie I originally thought it was only the spare turns out to be all 5 wheels

That looks like what's called LL1 Dark Turquoise Poly in 1966. That being said, they often had different names for the same colours over the years, and in this case it's called LL1 Royal Turquoise Poly. Either that or the ZZ1 Frost Turqouise Poly.

Poly stands for metal-flake.
