$17,000.00?? :realcrazy:
I know, I know.
"Can't build it for that".
and
"Start high... ".
and
"Find another one".
and
"You're all cheap bastards"...

I don't care. He'll be lucky to get 1/2 that.

10 years from now???:poke:

Let's put into perspective... if they can get this kind of money today then my Polara ragtop shuld be able to pull this kind of money with the amount of work I have put into it:lol:

The C-body world is a tough sandbox to play in.
We want to see our cars go up in value, yet at the same time we don't - because most of us want to buy another one at some point -- and we don't want to fall on our own sword.

I think C-body owners are the most beat up upon group that I know of.
Everybody takes advantage of us.
They either hold them hostage with some unobtainable ransom fee, or...
They give you **** for yours when asked

I agree with Stan's comments here.

Throwing my hat into the circle and staying objective about both of these cars.

I have to say that the blue Monaco 440 model is not as clean as they claim but it is a Monaco which will bring a bit more cash than the Polara series.
The chrome though is a huge issue on the Monaco which make or may not be the 22,xxx miles being stated.
Re-chroming bumpers would be about $1,500+ addition right off the bat.
Plus it is in need of major detailing under the hood!
The car overall is in need of a major detailing other than a wash n' wipe down that it has received

The yellow Polara though is pretty nice looking on the surface.

Customized nicely and detailed all around including under the hood!:thumbsup:
It looks to have been properly prepared to sell.

Now the down side to both of these that I have noted.
1) Neither one of the sellers openly shows the under carriage which to me is a make or break on any online sales.:BangHead:
2) Neither one of these cars has any upgraded braking system either both having the OEM single pot system.:BangHead:
- Not something I would want to drive regularly as it is one brake pump of the pedal away from no brakes at all..:steering:
(My preference would be the Disc brakes and dual M/C setup for improved braking and peace of mind...not OEM but safe for everyone all around and a protection of the investment)

Final comment here is if these cars can sell at these prices or close to it, it means that my Polara convertible is gaining in marketable value as well :)
I am maybe too humble in the estimation of my c-body having had an agreed value set at $25,000cdn but know that I would not get that kind of money at this time and if I were to sell getting half of the selling prices here would make me a happy seller!:canada:

Seems like the seller has checked his comps and is directly inline with current values for 66 Polara/Monaco with bench seat and column-AT, and has deducted properly for non-AC. (a little facetious/sarcastic there)

Neither of those are #1 cars nor is the one I posted at the start. Certainly not worth what they are asking which is for #1 "professionally" restored cars. Has anyone ever gone to one of these sales houses to see these cars in person? We have one out here by Fairfield that I went to several years ago with my Cougar Club. The cars sure looked great from 10 feet but once up close things changed. Once I crawled under the cars things changed rapidly as I noted all the faults while a salesman stood by. My take away lesson was to watch out for these places since if one does it then many do it.

The white '66 Monaco on CL in the SF Bay area will probably get the typical California bump in value since its undercarriage should only have surface rust, though the bushings will likely be old and cracked. Asking 15K, will probably take $14.
