A 440 4 speed was available.
Two things though.
Was AC available with a 440 4 speed?
And would it have been 18 or 23 teeth?
Huge problem: 440 4 speeds got a Dana 53, not an 8¾

That's why I like hanging around here. I did not know this.

The 18 spline trans was included with all 440 and Hemi 4spd's, as was a Dana rear. (3:54 std, 4:10 optional.)
I would have to see documents & codes to believe it was a original 440.

Wow. That is pretty nice set of wheels. Think I would.have gone with a different paint color tho. Cop bait red, not good.

Wonder if theirs ah build sheet or even ah tag on the core support for this puppy? I'm not ah '66 Fury guru but were those vents on the dash factory or hand carvingz? My '68 Barracuda vert. waz factory A/C and it waz ah factory under dash unit! That Sanden compressor is definitely after market and those Summit rocker coverz??????????? COME ON!!!!!!!!!! BUTT UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAY TOO MANY DEMERITS,

Dana 53 ?????

The dana 53 was a HD, semi floating axle used mostly in trucks & jeeps.
Starting in 66 all B-body 440 & hemi 4 spd cars used the dana 60 axle.
It's interesting that the dana was not installed in Cbodys.

I wonder if the 440 4spd 68-70 Cbodys were equipped with dana's

I just looked at the engine section of my 66 FSM and there are no reference to, or service procedures on the 440 engine listed.
I wonder if it was a later production option.

If anybody wants me to I'd gladly go take it for a spin.:3gears:

I'm thinking this is a assembled car. Maybe an original 383 4spd.
If so he will need to "half" the asking price to sell to a mopar guy.

Wil: I too am wondering if the 440 was ever available in a Plymouth in '66. I never saw one or heard of one, back in the day - a hemi in a B-Body, yeah, but not a 440. If it was available, it had to be a late change engine-option.

I'm thinking they were a late production addition. The 440 had a "J" engine code. I have seen a couple.
66 was also the first year for the street hemi, not avaliable in the fury, which probably overshadowed the 440.

Fifth digit = engine codes 1966
A - 170 1-1BBL 6 Cylinder "G" engine
B - 225 1-1BBL 6 Cylinder "RG" engine
C – Special Order 6 Cylinder engine
D - 273 1-2BBL 8 Cylinder "LA" engine
E - 318 1-2BBL 8 Cylinder "LA" engine
F - 361 1-2BBL 8 Cylinder "B" engine
G - 383 1-2BBL 8 Cylinder "B" engine
H - 426 2-4BBL 8 Cylinder "RB" engine (Hemi)
J - 440 1-4BBL 8 Cylinder "RB" engine
K – Special Order 8 Cylinder engine
