Hamtramck is a great resource - 440 is there as an option in the literature.

Very cool car doubt its original, nice driver without sweating value or details. I would say if it drive's well a/c does blow cold and a real 18 spline probably worth 14-15 as it does not look scotch taped together. Go find a decent body and put a BB 4SPD in it and you will be approaching 10.

I had an original showroom brochure for the '66 Fury's and the 440 was definitely listed. It replaced the413 from '65.
The reason I know this is because when I built my '66 Fury 440 4 speed, I built it to all the factory specs for the factory '66 Fury 440 4 speed. The only difference was I couldn't find a Dana 53.

Now, fer all you youngns - the Dana 53 had a short usage on passenger cars but were used extensively on the Jeep line and some other 4x4's (Bronco??).
It was a 9¼ rear but is not related in any way to the Corporate 9¼ used from late '73 and up.

Dana 53 ?????

Yep, there was a few rare C-Bodies in the 60's that had a Dana 53 with a big block 4 speed. A few trucks had them too. Not limited to Mopars....A couple of different car manufacturer's used that rear during the 60's also.

We have a thread somewhere on here (FCBO) that went through the gambit with every Mopar application that was ever manufactured with the Dana 53 rear.

Watch out folks, grandpa is bustin' out the Dana 53!

I bought a 67 Sport Fury with a 440/4-speed awhile back. It definitely had a Dana 53. I wanted to buy it back, but the owner died and I never saw it again. He bought a really nice D100 from me, also. That looks like an assembled 383 car, and there's lots of stuff to fix and correct. $7K tops from me.

Originally a 383

This car was on C/L all spring out of Va. If I remember right he was at about 12ish. It also ran on Ebay. The guy that has it now has been running it at local muscle car lot. It had some rust issues according to the Va. guy. Don't know if the "new" owner is bragging about that or if it has had a mop and slop. It looks pretty good in the pix. There is another 66, same car but with a later 383HP and trans sitting on the ground, that the guy said was last registered in 73. He pulled it from a barn, says its rust free as in no holes. Needs w/shield, some interior (front buckets), and drive train installed. Originally gold/ blank int with console. He's asking 3200.

Will, what engine would this be?

K – Special Order 8 Cylinder engine

Not sure Bob, I haven't found any specific information for a 66 "K"code. There is also a code "C", (special order 6 cyl), for 66 models.
I suspect it may be a fleet option, such as municipal or taxi.
It would be interesting to know as I am not familure with any special engine packages outside the RPO engines, or mid production additions.

My 69 A12 road Runner carried a "M" (special order v8), engine code. Those cars were "383 delete" cars with the 6bbl engine substuted as part of the A12 package.

A 440 4 speed was available.
Two things though.
Was AC available with a 440 4 speed?
And would it have been 18 or 23 teeth?
Huge problem: 440 4 speeds got a Dana 53, not an 8¾

only way to tell if it was a factory 440 is from the vin. a j code was a 440.

also if this car is original paint then why is the engine compartment black? seems to me a chevy guy without a clue is trying to sell a mopar.
