Great! Very interesting and well loaded NP Please lightly sand or Scotchbrite the numbers so the numbers and letters can be read. I would like to know if LH or both seats are powered. Is that a power antenna? Interesting to see a black painted fender tag on a white car..or, is that not black paint? Primer? Please confirm or correct first seven characters of the VIN are : CL23J63. The last digit is plant number and could be a different number. See you Saturday.
Offer of a free fender tag still graciously open. Until then, look for a"2" under the "H" to signify Order Code452-Power Locks. A rare option on Chryslers, especially Newports. Please shoot me a picture of the fender tag--should be interesting.

Attached is a draft decode report, based on what I can read or guess on the fender tag. Others with insights into decoding 1966 fender tag codes are encouraged to help this struggling student. Does the car have seat belts or any indication it ever did? Have you ever searched for a Production Broadcast sheet? Often found tucked in behind the rear seat upright cushion. Example attached. Is there a possibility this car was originally white, painted black and then painted white again.? I think I saw black under peeling white on the RH front fender. I am surprised this car does not have AutoPilot. This car deserves to be kept together and restored and has many of the followers excited. I expect to learn a lot. Thanks for posting and best wishes finding this car a new home.

Hey @Torky, I see an AM/FM radio in the dash. Perhaps it was swapped in. Nice info in your decode!
Good eye, Mr. Wooldridge. Thank you for your kind words. I did view the radio, saw the big AM numbers and missed the smaller FM numbers across the bottom. Probably was /is a factory AM FM radio. The blob of black paint under the "R" could just as well be a "3" for 423-AM FM radio. Makes sense. Everything else was premium. We shall hopefully see tomorrow. Is decoding one of your skills?

No, I leave that to others!
I would like a shot at decoding your three '66's. I learn from each one, especially wagons. Legible pix of the Fender Tags and, at least, first seven characters of the VIN. N/C to anyone, ever. Do you have window stickers, Production Broadcast or IBM cards for any of these?

I parted one and saved locking parts

I am collecting data for '67-'68 tags but cannot produce a report yet. Thank you for the shot of the rare cop car plate. It does look like a '67 New Yorker 4DHT. Fit for the Chief , Sheriff or under cover??

Do you have a picture of the rest of the tag? Which code is for power locks? I think I now understand this is not a cop car tag.

Fender tag, I removed door panels and is not power locks, vent window are electric but the motor are missing, door window regulator work and both motors are there.
