So, I'm thinking of buying a 66 Polara Convertible. The car has 89,000 original miles, and it is a big block car. top is in great condition as well as the interior. It has just a few scratches on the hood and the interior is in great condition. Unfortunately the owner wouldn't let me take pics of it until I buy it, but he wants 4 grand for it. Do you guys think it would be worth it to buy?

Any rust issues either currently or in the past?

To drive it, all I'd have to do is go through the brakes, fuel system and new battery. and its ready to drive. My family has bought many cars from this guy and they've all been great cars. He's the one I got my wagon from.

I would try to talk him down a bit and I'm not saying it's not worth 4k, but I would try. Ask him if he'll take 3k cash and go from there. Very cool car and hope you pick it up!

It sounds like a fair price to me but as always, try and get it as cheap as you can.

If that's his attitude, I'd walk away and tell him to stick it unless it was a 1 of 1 and you really found a hidden gem.
Crazy bastard....

Well this guys a really cool guy and has a whole mopar junkyard and a warehouse full of parts. He just doesn't want people finding out about what he has because he already has had people steal parts from him.

That's reason enough on top of the fact that you already have working relationship with the guy, sounds like you can't go wrong, especially if you can talk him down a few bucks.

yeah I'm going to try to talk him down a little bit. He also said that If I don't have all the money at once, I can give him a down payment.

Yeah, go for it as he has parts for the future! Good luck. Now go buy the car and post some pictures, before some other MOPAR nut buys it out from under you! LOL.....

I'm going to try to buy it from him. In his garage at his house he has an original roadrunner 440 6 pack. He used to have a superbird but sold it a while back.

Wow, Roadrunner with 440 6 pack! Very cool. That car is worth a ton of cash. Is it restored? Gotta ask if you can take a few pics of it,...if he'll let you. Good luck with the buy. I'm sure you'll get it and I'm guessing between $3200 and $3500. If you have all the cash in your hand,..offer him $3200 and go from there. Either way it's worth the 4k he's asking, unless its in bad shape. Just check it out real good.
