Well, I got to thinking, well... my alternator bracket which is the original, doesn't have that thingie welded onto it like yours so I'm still thinking #2 in the pic is a separate piece.
Now here's the thing that pisses me off. I spent over an hour in the parts book and I could not find the section that shows the heater hose holders/brackets. Grrrr....
I'm trying to see what #2 bracket looks like so I can go from there.

What I'd do is buy two of them. One you put on the alternator adjustment bolt, like the original, and the other you either drill and tap the upper alt braket and bolt the second bracket on, or tack weld it in place. DONE! ;)

What do you mean mean lock'em up?
I can close a thread if that's what you mean but I haven't seen a need to do so in my time here as of yet

If by beating a dead horses you meant finding the bracket you were looking for, and posting it in the thread where you were looking for it, then I apologize for posting it since it's $30 bucks and you've apparently decided the zip ties are a sufficient and more cost effective
