Why are Imperial pie tins always so mangled? They seem to have not survived well with the passage of time.

Why are Imperial pie tins always so mangled? They seem to have not survived well with the passage of time.

Couple of reasons I think. First they were in contact with the hood pads and second, water leaked through the holes that the hood spears were attached through.
