I'm working with some paper work today and came across this car.

1967 Fury II three seat wagon. DD1 blue with blue interior.

383-4bbl, three on the tree, SG and performance suspension.

It was ordered by a customer. What was the buyer going to use this combo for?

Odd? Rare? Practical?

I wonder if it still exists.

First time hearing a 3 on da tree behind a 383 4bbl.
I could be wrong but I thought you could only get a 4 speed or 727 behind that engine?
My guess is the wagon was ordered for towing.
Back in the day some preferred a manual trans when towing something big and heavy on the highways.

That's what I thought and that's why it caught my eye. But....here's one.

I could certainly agree with this. Its hard to guess accurately what people are/were thinking. Maybe this guy lived his career in a ratty old van or pickup with a three-on-the-tree.....his doctor told him that its tearing his aging back up, and this is the solution to his problem??

15 Manual Transmission 1967 Fury II Wagons according to Galen's book. Probably includes 4 speeds too but who knows what was what.

my dad had a 62 Ford wagon...390 3 on the tree...back then a lot of folks just didn't trust an automatic for towing
