doubters

attached is the new title just got from the DMV. What happened to going online to a website and learning about stuff? If I plan to sell a car or not what difference does that make? Its not like owning a car or posting on the internet is some kind of private club. I appreciate comments on the CAR and all those judges of character....:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

As far as I know the space on the paperwork where you fill in the mileage is blank and filled in by either the p.o. Upon selling the car or sometimes left up to the new owner to fill in. Either way whoever was not wrong to write what the odometer actually said and I can't imagine that the state employee was about to question that with a walk out to see for themselves.

It's all about collecting revenue !!!! I have several family members & friends that are notary's and it's no big deal to get something notarized.......... :sSig_conspiracy::sixpack: It's even easier if your a dealer.... :glasses7:

[h=1]Corrected Titles[/h]
If any information is incorrect on the title, you may submit the corrected information and request a corrected title.
Note: If ownership is changing or if an owner is added or deleted from a title, this is not considered a correction but a transfer of ownership and a new original title must be applied for.
[h=3]Fees[/h] A $25.00 fee is required to correct any information submitted incorrectly.
[h=3]Processing Time[/h] Please allow seven (7) to ten (10) business days after receipt of the application for a corrected title to be processed and mailed. If you have any questions, call the Title Division at 857-368-8050.
If you are requesting a correction for an odometer discrepancy, a notarized affidavit of facts must be submitted. This affidavit is a statement made by the person who originally miss-stated the odometer reading and attesting to the true and accurate mileage on the vehicle at time of sale. This statement must be signed and witnessed in the presence of a notary public. If the person making the statement is acting on behalf of a company, the affidavit must be on company letterhead.

[h=3]To Obtain a Corrected Title:[/h]
  1. Complete a Title Amendment Form. This form is available at any full service RMV office or from a licensed Massachusetts insurance agency. You may also download this Title Amendment form from the Forms and Files section on our website. Or call the Telephone Center and access the forms menu to have a form sent to you.
  2. Check the appropriate boxes and fill in all required information. All owners must sign the application form.
  3. Mail the completed Title Amendment Form, the original title and a $25.00 check, payable to MassDOT, to:
Attn: Title Correction Department
Registry of Motor Vehicles
PO Box 55885
Boston, MA 02205-5885

In Washington state the seller fills in the mileage, afaik.

Hey Jeff, maybe try interacting instead of trying to prove something. This thread seems to be more about you wanting us to give our blessing to things you've already done or decided on. Most here either post what they've done just for the fun of it and showing what is going on with their car, or they are asking for input to help make a decision.

Really, the only way to verify actual milage on a vehicle is to have the owner history from new and with service/repair receipts with dates and milage.

All else is conjecture.

My 64 D200 crew cab came with the original sales order, warrentee and service receipts on the original selling dealership invoices and additional service receipts from the time it was new to when I got the truck in 2000 with 92K miles on it. A binder full.
It now has 150K on the clock and i've kept a record of what service and repaires I have made.

Here is a shot of the truck in front of the dealership it was bought new at. As of last year they were still in business, although no longer a Dodge dealer, and I spoke to the owner who's name is on the sales order as the salesman.

Show me documents like this and i'll beleve your 13K claim. If you can't ..... Keep it to yourself.

What lies that were drug up was this guy talking about? Before he made that comment the only thing I saw said that might piss him off was it's not 13K miles.

Did something get deleted?

Yes, if you look at the interaction between Stan and the OP, it looks like there was a post that included a link to an old disputed sale on another forum. I think that post was deleted. If you do a Google search on the user name, you'll see that he's active with that name on a number of different web forums.

My Cougar, under my care it's entire life, say 003,217 right now. Most would be hard pressed to say that wasn't true. You can look at the complete original interior and not be able to tell. You can look at the entire undercarriage and not be able to tell. You could look at the chrome and not be able to tell. The only way you would know for sure it is 103,217 would be when I say those are the confirmed miles. So do I have a gold mine at 3,217 original miles now?

I get it. This is using the "Dan School of Salesmanship".
Make a complete roaring ******* of yourself in front of the whole world because a true snake oil peddlar believes there's no such thing as bad publicity.

003.jpg004.jpg001.jpgIn ebraska, the only way to get an "actual mileage" cert on the title, a signed statement from the seller. he also has to have a copy of the statement from his seller, and that form has to be on file at the DMV from when it was first registered. A difficult trail to maintain Indeed. Otherwise, you can forget it. A question that I have is,if this car was really 13k, what happened? The valve covers are at least 1970 or newer, so what about the engine? I don't believe I have ever seen an orange intake on any 383 67' C body. To me the whole under the hood thing looks thrown together.
As quoted before, just my .02.
here is a picture of an actual 29k 67' fury grandpa car under the hood. No cracks about the vertical headlights, ok? I love this car, and I'm sensitive!
