NOT MINE 67 Imperial Mobile Director on Ebay

$10,700 bought it and I was not a bidder.

Wow. Hopefully well bought.

I was for all practical purposes "out" when it can to my attention here at $7,600. It was beyond me at that level ... i noted though I believed it was NOT going to stop there. So I was a spectator for this one even though I really dug it..

Nearly $11 big? .. thats tall given what it is/needed for me to get into the action

But I am really only a little bit surprised that it got there .. bet if we see it again, after some "renovation" to preserve originality as best is possible, it'll be 150% higher than that (into the mid $20's),

And worth every penny IMHO

I understand it will be heading to Virginia. Anybody here I hope?

No wonder the fenders are so pitted. The rear tires indicate winter operation :(

THX for the extra pics Matt
I was surprised from the start about the twin whitewall winter tires. I bet they were unusual in the day. No title was a big issues for me but all that rust not previously disclosed in detail and the look of that carpet (yuk). Do you experts think the carpet is just worn or was it in a flood

The carpet is probably just dirty, worn and faded.

Before it came up for sale on Ebay

I would’ve flipped out had I found that in some obscure auction!

a "charity-donated vehicle - sold as is", given or nominally sold for nothing that ultimately resold for $11K -- after somebody figured out what it was.

Reminds me of some of the items on "Antiques Roadshow" --- somebody bought a painting at a yard sale for $5.00 and it turns out to be worth $50,000.

I have never discovered such a surprise at an auction (I don't go enough) but a lesson I learned (and many folks here have stories to match) is that IF something interests you, try to vet it if you can.

seller may have NO idea what they have, or described it poorly, left it dirty (dirty cars do NOT seem to get much respect) but NOT rusty, or are just trying to get rid of stuff (like governmental seizures, etc....) taking up space ....

Again, maybe we'll see YM23K73199922 back here later one day.

Isn't that how it goes? I had a similar situation a few years back with a badass watch. I knew what it was and all of the "dealers" that looked at it thought it was just a cheap Seiko and passed it up. I sold it for 1,000% profit 2 years later.
