So finally done and in. Looks bit goofy with the nyer trim but nice to have am/fm. And fixed the map light after all these years! I'm pleased

Looks good. Maybe just keep it as is until you find the right one then sell this one.

All I need is the correct overlay. I was going to paint it but didn' have the heart as the woodgrain part I bought was a nos, someone with a nyer would love to have it.
Great job. I see the thumb wheel over lay come up on ebay quite often, but can't say I've seen the am/fm style. You can cover it with a silver stick on vinyl ,then it would be removable and could be reversed to the NY style anytime.

I'm pleased with the sound, the guy that repaired the radio had to bascaly take the "stereo" out so it basically players out of the front and rear speaker. The 4x10 speaker was rotted away so I put a cheap new one in that is 2 way and sounds pretty clear. Can hear it even over the flowmater 40s with the top down. It does exactly what I needed. A true fm radio just so I have some sound driving down the road. Someday I'll find the correct over lay but I'm happy. I have no need for a system as my door panels are perfect and I'm not cutting holes for speakers.
Try this guy. He just parted out a 68
