Hello Fellow C body enthusiasts!,

I would like to overkill my current brake set-up on my 68 Newport which has drums all around.

I would like to go big-*** discs in the front, and at least x-large drums in the back, or discs in the back as well.

Can anyone tell me if imperial disc brakes will easily swap over in the front, or if there is an aftermarket solution someone can recommend?

Many thanks,
Mike

As far as disc up front I believe that you'll find most of the guys here recommending a swap to the disc set up from a 1973 c body. As for the back I don't know. I'd like to do the 73 swap on the front of my NYer at some point.

speaking as one that has done this swap -

i would not bother with rear disc. drums are perfectly fine for rear end.

i used ECI kit. ask for ralph and tell em FCBO sent ya.

a lot of people use scarebird kit.

SSBC or poomlim would be the rich guy solution i guess.

PST just came out with some kind of kit, but i cant speak about that.

search this site well for brake upgrades - a lot of us have done it and all the info is here within this site ( booster, MC, etc., discussions)
