I just started to drive my 68 Fury. Bought it a month ago...and never owned one before. It has directional lights on the fenders and has the green arrow directionals in the speedo cluster but the speedo cluster directionals do not work, so...I managed to fit my weary body under the dash and looked up into the backside of the cluster with flashlight and found no bulbs/sockets/wires in the backside. Blank holes for both. What gives? My 70 Fury and my 69 Fury had both functioning speedo and fender directionals. Is this the way she was made? It's been many years but I do believe my 70 Polara, 68 Polara and 65 Fury had both speedo and fender directionals that functioned too. BTW...I appear to have a very unmolested beautiful example of a 68 Fury with 54k original miles...no rust ever...original paint, interior and chrome. I can't imagine anyone cut those sockets out of there...hmmm

'67 Chryslers have both.

Are the cluster holes notched like they can accept a twist in socket w/bulb?

I know there are some C-bodies that don't have dash signals, just not sure which ones.

That's all I got for you for now.

Sorry Bob, I replied too fast.

I was thinking of my Crown Vics which have twist in sockets.

And the Newps have the signals in the bezel above the cluster.

So other than confusing you with a bunch of wasted key strokes, I got nothing.

Let me go check my '67. I'll edit this post with my findings.
Edit:
My '67 has inlaid turn signals as pictured:

Behind the dash there are two plugs that connect to the signals, so I'm not sure what happened to yours. Maybe they broke at one point and the owner never bothered to fix it.

Sorry the picture sucks. The black boot is what I believe to be the wiring for the turn signal. You should check the FSM for wiring diagrams.

Thanks guys...I can't imagine what would have happened to them. I can see from the one photo (from Horvaths-thank you) that I should look for a yellow wire for at least one of the directional sockets.

Thank you very much...

Bob

I'm not sure. I'll check when I take it to school in the morning.

I have tried everything, but nothing I do will get it to turn on. I believe it's the "check brakes" light for when you run low on brake fluid.
