And I keep wishing you had bought BitterSweet. I thought you would. What was it about the car that kept you from being interested?

Really? I should have you know. Why did't that occur to me? I must have had too much on my mind at the time.

Solid 440 and tranny should pull 1200 all day long. Hell, just the brackets and fittings are probably worth at least 1/2 that. And if those are hp manifolds on a c body then there's a 2-300 bucks. If it's a sure grip then there another easy 4-500 bucks. QUOTE]

A car is always worth more parted out, but you need to factor in your time and effort to remove parts, then find someone to buy them, An HP 440 may be worth that much, but the base 440's are easy to find at $200-600.

I fully agree and would add that I personally consider the rebuild work done to a non runner to have great potential for disaster. So you should never pull the engine until the sale is completed... no way for the buyer to get a good inspection without at least the ability to run it.

As to the car in question, not my chosen style....No dislike, just not one I follow enough to quote a price on.

That's my take on it at least. Is it perfect? No, but seems priced fairly based on the pics I see.

So based on that which maybe conservative abit we have at least 2600 dollars for the drive train. Buy it for 3000 bucks and the car is 400 bucks. Stans says it is ho hum and I agree because the paint is dead as well as a tired interior. But I like this body style better than the usual 67 68 fury body style. Maybe because it is more unusual.

Personally, I'm not a big Fury guy... I had a 69 which means nothing, it was just the wrong car to go for even at the 400 bucks I paid for it..BUT with this one I see bypassed heater core, a chock in front of the front wheel, peeling unoriginal paint, sorta half flashy rims and a chrome aircleaner and I get a little weak feeling in my spine.... Could be a very deep bees nest.

That said if upon seeing it it was a good runner that doesn't piss fluid and that paint isn't hiding 6inches of plastic over hardware cloth, 2500-3000 would be my tops. ... Were I a die hard Fury guy.

I am a Fury guy and feel the same about this car as you.

Well I agree with all of you. A look see would definitely be in order if someone was interested. I still think it is a cool car.

That is a Red Neck rocket ship ... no way in Jesus waving snakes that's a real 440 car....

My advice after many years is to wait until a nice one comes along that isn't all screwed with and be ready to pay a little more for it. In the end, nicer cars to start with are nearly always the way to go both in saving money and time, and being much more happy with the end result. I would wait for something like this to show up and then save up the cash to spring on it...............
