69 383 engine paint

I'm pretty sure that 1631 is going to be the 1970+ blue, not the turquoise you want for 1969. The number you'd want to be looking at is 1619, Chrysler Green. I evaluated that one in my video below, along with Ford Green 1617 and Detroit Diesel Alpine Green 1618 and did not choose any of the three. As I said before, it really is all up to how picky people are. I'm super picky and didn't want to settle for "good enough". That's why I spent a couple months of time and probably $100 in paint cans to find the best match and I am happy with the results. If you're okay with "close enough", many of the options I looked at will do.

Got it thx, mine has greenish intake and blue valve covers, I guess when the PO changed it to a 4bbl he painted it a different shade

Turquoise to my eyes :).

Here's mine right now. A bit hard to see I know, but I'm guessing the intake is the correct color, not the valve covers?

Phone cameras never capture the color correctly (and looks different on different screens) as is the case here...my '66 Fury engine together and back in the car.

Very true, and they overexpose everything as well. Yours looks nice, what did you paint it with?
I used the Hirsch '57-'58 Pontiac Turquoise (in person it looks more greenish, more correct, than on my screen), hardware store semi-gloss black, and I had the exhaust manifolds ceramic coated locally in "cast gray" color.

Here are two of my "beauties"... The motor painting I referred to in the comments above is the 383 Satellite. I'll be doing the Chrysler next! Cleaned the motor with Purple Power then Eastwood 2-part primer and Hirsch paint ...came out well!

Would that be the same for 69?
