69 y2 y3 mistake

We have trouble getting accurate information on numbers regarding what was built . The only numbers we know of are from reports that survived and those are percentage based ( I may be wrong ) . I'd bet the farm no numbers exist of a car that got something that wasn't supposed to or a paint code error .

agree. How and why would you track mistakes?

@moparfats's Polara 500 is currently for sale in Switzerland, unless I am wrong in concluding that the car below car is DM23G9F100612

@MoparFatsJr -- belated thank you again for the confirmation. Everything matches. The car is still for sale on FB in CH, with a slightly lowered price of CHF29k.

I believe that I have found a video of the car at Carlisle in 2021 (if I see correctly) on YouTube -- can you confirm that it is indeed DM23G9F100612 ?

I have one question: the build sheet shown at 4:12 in the video is for a Q4 (not Y2 or Y3) Polara 500, VIN DM23G9F100688 (not DM23G9F100612). Can you shed any light?

That was indeed the very car, however unfortunately I can not answer your questions about the build sheet I my self do not know. My best guess is that somehow the build sheets got switched with our at the time other 69 polara but I don’t think it was because it was a base model 69 polara A4 silver 383 survivor car.

I am sorry that I could not answer your question about the car & build sheet. At the time of this video was taken my father had, had a 71 roadrunner, 71 satellite, this yellow 69 polara 500, 69 polara A4 silver,
68 charger, and many more projects/parts cars. It was hard to keep track of them all when I was more focused on his health at the time then the cars.

Again I’m sorry that I could not answer your questions.

Please do not apologize. You are correct, your father's 1969 A4 Polara is DL23G9D248398 -- I know because it is a car that I almost bought from your father back in 2018. I really liked the car and how it looked, but in the end I wanted a 4bbl and found a T-code 1971 Monaco that I liked. There are threads about the sale here and here. The fender tag is:

Back to the build sheet of your father's yellow Polara 500. What I think happened is that the line workers threw the build sheet of DM23G9F100688 in whatever car was closest, and in this case it was your Dad's Polara 500 (DM23G9F100612). Given how close the VIN sequences are, and the fact that both cars were built at the Newark, DE plant (F code in the VIN), that's my best guess.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions!
