didn't some of the undercoat companies also sell it as a sound proofer of sorts?

I'd say you are looking at $5000 just to restore under the hood.

Alan
I'd say, under the hood, as-is, knocks 10k off the value of the car.
I agree with you that you're looking at 5k to unfluck that mess.
But then, with under the hood now being non-original, that knocks 5k off the value of the car.
Lose-lose...

And we haven't seen under the car yet...

All the methods I have seen for removing the ziebart and other undercoating really strips the shine off the paint too. It will never be a survivor with that stripped off as it will look like crap as that stuff looks THICK!

WTF is that to the right of hood latch...
There is also something similar under dash....

Just a guess on my part...

Absolutely, unequivocally, NO...
I would guess control for air shocks. That would explain the box to the left of the radiator with what looks like two washer motors. (unless it has headlight washers)

Would a steam pressure washer work?
On stuff that thick NO! It is really hit and miss with a hot hot preasure washer, some of the thinner ziebart will come off but the thicker stuff like undercoating from the factory no. And when you heat it and blow it off that stuff will go everywhere and get in every nook and cranny.

gasoline will take care of that undercoating PDQ! along with a match!:woot:

Amazing what some people will pay for something that clearly has been adulterated. The "damage" to the engine compartment and probably the undercarriage is huge in my book. That stuff is not easy under any circumstances to remove without causing changes under it to the cars original surface.

Are you guys sure everything is Ziebarted, or simply spray-bombed black, like a GM car??? Either way, it absolutely devalues an otherwise nice car. That's too smooth and shiny to be all Ziebart. Looks mostly like spray-bomb black.

The seats have plenty of what looks to be sun-caused discoloration. I'm very skeptical of the sales claims on this Chrysler. You'd think with a "low-mileage, documented" car, you would have a LOT more information about the car and a LOT more pictures. This NEEDS a pre-purchase inspection before a buy.

I tried and I tried. I can't figure out what all this weird *** crap is...

I think the red valve is another hardware store fix for a bad shutoff valve.

Alan

knew what the tap shutoff was...what l didn't know is what the unit ontop of the heater/AC box is
