Seller's description

Listing for my old man, if you have question let me know and Ill put you in contact with him. Please read full ad, lots of detail below:1970 Plymouth Fury III 2 door 318ci. 57K original miles with pristine interior (still has OG clear rubber floor mats)! Has the iconic Fury bulge hood with directional light cutouts/lights (they still work too). Everything still works!! Barn find from Knoxville area, when we picked the car up the tabs on the lic plate said 1984. Previous owner stopped driving car due to age, the body shows some signs of the reason as there are some scrapes, dents, and scratches (primarily on the pass side from kissing the garage and/or fuel pump poles). The car instantly fired up (battery and squirted gas in carb) after we dragged it home however the coolant had solidified in the radiator, water pump, and block. Installed new water pump, hosed out block, and installed a new radiator. Car ran flawless for a few weeks but developed a valvetrain tick. Upon inspection it had some decent valve lash on a few rockers. Worried the cam was going flat the decision was made to pull engine out and tear it down. Upon inspection found the cam has just started to wear however it appears we caught in time as all bearings looked brand new, crank had zero wear, etc. While the engine was opened, we opted to do a quick rebuild on it, list of parts below. Everything below has less than 4k miles on it. This car did complete the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour this summer without ANY incidents, even averaged 17mpg which blew me away for this boat, and was a comfortable ride to boot! Engine rebuild:• Melling M-72 oil pump• Clevite P-Series rod and main bearings• Hastings piston rings• New pushrods• Replaced 4 rocker arms due to ball cups looking iffy• New motor mounts• New transmission mount• Comp Cams 20-220-3 camshaft (barely larger than stock, wanted stock-like driveability but couldn’t bring myself to buy bone stock)• Melling JB-2011 hydraulic lifters• Melling dbl roller timing set• Felpro Engine gasket kit (incl head gaskets)• Pioneer freeze plugs• New water pump• Heads rebuilt – hardened valve seats, 3angle vale job, new valve seals, surfaced (by Headworks of Nashville)• Block flushed/cleaned out (coolant had solidified over the 20+ yrs of sitting). Dingle ball honed. Cam bearings looked new so left them alone. Other work:• New master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes front and rear. • New shocks• NOS New heater control valve• AC system was recharged with r134a (a few new o-rings were installed prior, system is holding a charge and air blows cold).• New champion aluminum radiator• Transmission filter and fluid flush• Original hubcaps come with the car, the ones on the car I was told are still from a Fury III, liked the ways these looked v. the original ones• New Cooper Cobra tires (with spare)Could use attention:• Steering box has a slow leak, have to top off power steering fluid every so often. Has slowed down a bit though, not sure if seals are coming back around or not. • Rear leaf springs are tired HOWEVER the car comes with (not installed) brand new (not rebuilt) rear leaf springs,, comes with bushings, ubolts, and hardware.

As noted in the ad, some blemishes I see is on the passenger side (see below -- rear quarter, right behind the door). Gorgeous colors.

What a cool car! The black dash and Carpet looks strange to me against the rest of the turquoise interior.

I'm real glad this isn't a Dodge.
