Engine core $450, 727 core $100, Core headlight motor $50, Disc Brake spindles $50 ea, rear axles $50 ea. Most of the rest is iron, won't make it to $2k.

Here in AZ a complete with all brackets running 70 440 core or not with 727 is $12-1500 all day long.

Based on the f'd up roof rack and the excessive rot, the car was probably never loved. I wonder what shape any parts are in? Unless it was in my neighborhood, I wouldn't waste my time looking at it unless I was desperate for a drive train. I think you could find a better 440/727 parts car a lot cheaper.

Not to be flaky, but whenever I see a car that could have been repainted with an OEM color, but "blackboard/street rod/primer black" was chosen instead, that kind of tells me what the rest of the car might be like, unfortunately, especially if it's not in reasonably good condition. Possibly the roof rack was supposed to be an allusion to the "Chrysler Traveler" roof rack of the '40s and such? Or another "bad sign".

Wondering how much of the other wiring harnesses have been hacked for a "sound system" or other items? Wondering what else is rotted, other than the hood? On the other hand, a good fabricator and welder could probably take care of any lower-body issues . . . just takes time, money, and desire to make it happen.

$2K seems too high for a parts car, though.

Obviously, that car was used for "something" by the prior owner. With the luggage rack, the Class III receiver hitch on the back, plus the "jug" with the siphon hose under the hood, plus the "over the valve cover" fuel line routing (with filter), it wasn't just running up and down the road. Obviously, it did survive, for what it's worth.

I don’t think it’s been repainted....

More than 2k worth of parts there with a running motor. I don’t see and upgraded sound system, and no wires hanging from the dash. My guess is a lot of the electrical is still good. Yes the body is natural reef material, but I see good bumpers too.

Not to hijack the thread, but what is the rebuilt '66 383 w/20k miles from the Darrell Brown Newp worth?

It yard drove fine when pulled.

John
