70 Newport

Bob..I assume this is a specific track in Maryland?

Yep, Cecil County Dragway, Maryland. Great race program on Sunday's and a lot of real fast racing special events throughout the race season. Friday nights is a total waste of time for the reasons previously stated.......I can understand the need for it to keep the dipsh*ts from doing it on the street (which they probably do anyways) and the need for the track to generate revenue. Probably 300-500 or even more sometimes on Friday nights at the track.

I like to run with the street cars on Friday nights. Nothing but cool car guys of all ages at the track on Friday nights. No blasting rap bullshit in Columbus & the group is mainly self policed & respectful towards each other.

No way..........

I don't know much about the car before I bought it. I found it on eBay the guy that owned it is a FCBO member. He bought it off CL then he found a 69 vert which was what he was looking for in the first place. This car was bought to replace my 71 Newport that I had and loved for about 7 years then in 08 I was hit by a drunk driver which put a end to her. I looked for 4 years for another one about 2 years ago i bought a 69 NYer but the frame was bad so I got my money back then I found this one here is all three of them

So far what I have done to the new one is brake lines gas tank and new lines from tank to carb. Put a rebuilt 440 that was a raffle ticket won by my dad back in 83 I put a 4- speed out of my RR and converted it from the column to the floor best thing I did to this point. I still need to swap out to disc brakes up front yet and would like to find a 300 grille for her The car has a little rust but nothing bad I'm going to work on her as I drive it I already ripped a car apart to restore it ( 69 Road runner ) and its been down for 10 years money and skill come into play so this one I'm just going to enjoy it as I go

A fusie 4 speed, I could really enjoy that and would love to see that on a drag strip nose diving on every shift that would blow some fwd honda kids mind. I have to agree with fix and drive, apart cars are hard to stay moving ahead with.

That still should be my car.

And this:
"I found it on eBay the guy that owned it is a FCBO member. "
??? No one I know here.

Wow! You done some major upgrades so far. Keep the pictures coming.

OZZ383 is what he goes by on FCBO Good guy, descibed the car perfectly to me over the phone. I was a little nervous buying off of ebay but it worked out well. I couldnt be happier with this car and i just started to enjoy it so plenty of years to come

You have to get some pics up of the tunnel and clutch linkage does it use c-body pedals or is something else adapted???

Yeah everything was already there. I did have cut on the Z-bar a couple times I went from a 10.5 bell to 11" so that needed a little work As for the tunnel I didn't do anything yet I was a little inpaitant and wanted to drive her But I will be using a b- body hump that what I used to cut out the floor so that's what going back in But I need to put brakes on it first I just order the scarebird brackets today I have been driving her to work everyday and yesterday the pedal went all the way to the floor I checked fluid and it was good and don't see any leaks so just got her home and back in the garage till I can find out what's wrong Next time I have it up in the air ill take some pics of the linkage

Have you ever gone to Norwalk oh for the Chrysler classic in sept. If you like racing you won't find a better place to watch IMO. Its not a huge show but lots of racing and all mopars!!!!!!!!! Going to be a monster mopar event now shouldn't change much the track is what makes it. I live 10 min from pgh raceway park only went to first two Chrysler classics there once they let the other cars in not interested, anyway good luck with your car, glad you made it home okay, the scarebird kit I like for a driver cause can get most parts at autozone/advance if your at an event vaca whatever

i have never been there but the heard the track is super nice. Gonna have to plan a trip there this year. We used to go to Keystone or PGH raceway park all the time its a little over 1 1/2 away so it would get a little tough with 4.11 in my RR with little 14' tires Sure would be nice to live a little closer to a track but not my luck

If you go to Norwalk this year let me know we are going for sure. It's not as big as Carlisle or the nats, nice laid back show and some great racing, goes way into the night . IMO you won't find better all mopar racing. I'm hoping to run my brother in laws car because mine's not back together, I built it for him using leftovers so I guess can try to blow it up ( not really).
