Hey guys .
I just got my first convertible , and i need some info and help .
I need new fenders and bumpers to it (used) , do you know some companies that can have those parts ?
What other years uses the same parts ?

Is there anybody that know the part numbers to the front fenders ?

Hope somebody can help me .

Thanks , Olav .

Hi Olav,

just searched for the same parts (bumpers) lately. Got them from a friend luckily.
Wildcat in Oregon does have some as well as Murray in Ohio.

1970/1971 front bumpers look pretty similar but aren't. Rear bumper is a one year only piece, too. Actually there were two versions. To know which one you need we would need the built date of your car

Wildcat and Murray , are that companies ?
Do you know their web-adresses ?
I have no idea what the built-date is .
Can you see the difference on the rear bumper ?

kung Olav,

you have come to the right place.

here they really like 1970 Polara convertibles.
especially those that rich wannabee americans have shipped to europe.

and this is how norwegians enjoy their cars.

yes, they are dealers for classic Mopars.

Here is Wildcat

We have a user (Jeremy) who works there part time, I am sure he can chime in.

Here is Murray park

Do you have a fender tag for your car?
It is installed on the radiator support. It will show the built date of the car.
The early versions got a different one but only for a few weeks

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Welcome aboard. The front bumpers for 70's and 71's look almost identical but apparently bolt up differently. I don`t know if they could be adapted. There are 2 versions of a 70 rear bumper. The early build version has a fratzog between the tail lights while the later versions have plain centers. Both versions bolt up the same. Please let us know how you found the car and post some pics. Thanks.

heard a rumor that the car was fron Belvedere, Illinois
not a unknown car :yes_no:

but the good thing is that the owner is here asking for help.
so here is the chance for all gurus to show off :urkidding:

but what everyone interested in mopars should do before visiting for this or that only pages is to visit MY MOPAR site.

download the parts book for free. and learn to read it.

there is some really interesting stuff. did you know that the rear bumper for a export fuselage wagon is different

second step is to buy a shop manual in both the old way as a original book and the same as a copied computer disc.

with these info you are almost finished with the project ... :3gears:

the bad thing is that there ain't any parts for these. there might be some 4 doors hidden in a unknown yard, but must of them are rusted. one of the reason they've been junked.
even if i dislike the idea it would be easier to find a driver and ship it over. finding all missing parts around north america would take some time and the shipping would not be cheap.
and you would also have all kinds of parts that you didn't knowed you needed.

but finding a driver ain't easy unless you want a convertible. seems that there are as many convertibles for sale as all other bodystyles together, 1970-71. :BangHead:

but you have already a got pm for the missing parts.

I have a 70 Plymouth Fury Convertible and I had to buy a parts car to get a second front clip and a second rear bumper. I wish somebody did produce quality c-body aftermarket body parts new. With you in Norway, it sounds like you've got some big shipping costs ahead if you order these parts from used parts vendors across the USA. Sometimes bumpers and fenders can be pounded out and rechromed/repainted. Any chance your parts can be fixed and reused?
Best of luck and welcome!

Welcome to the board Olav. Post up a picture of the fender tag, and/or the build sheet and we can decode it for you and tell you what it's production date was.

Good luck with your cars restoration.

The car is in bags and boxes , halfway at least .
I havent found the fender tag yet .
To rechrome bumpers here is almost impossible , it can easy cost 2k a bumper .
I will try to post some Picture of the Project .

Do anybody know how many that was made ?

842.

So yes, these are rare regardless how many have survived...
