There was one running around my town a few years ago in rougher shape. I'm wondering if this is the same car gussied up.

[QUOTE="Autoengineer, Everyone who is selling a used car is a possible flipper and we all dislike them.[/QUOTE]

Incorrect......! We don't ALL hate them... We need them. They provide a service by offering up cars that may otherwise not surface. Perhaps not this, (chevyized), Monaco but some that may otherwise go to scrap, waste away in a field or building or (shudder), go the the durby.
Like anyone who offers a service, they get paid. The market will adjust the price.

Judging by the email address in the ad, I'd say it's the same owner. He's had it for 5 years.

Kinda cool car... I usually prefer 2 door cars, but this 4 door hardtop is different and I like the color. I can't decide if I like the wheels or not, but they could grow on me. No A/C would rule it out though.

It works out to $7200 USD asking price. IMHO, for that price, the interior would need to have been fixed. If it were me, I'd look at how long the car's been listed and make an offer accordingly.

If it weren't for flippers I wouldn't have my #1car. .2 dealers that bought only to sell and make money. If they didnt, I don't find it

Unfortunately, you say the word flipper and all too often it's associated with a guy showing up at the widow's front door with flowers and cash while her husband's body is being carried out the back door.

Stan, I understand that you have your finger on the trigger for a couple of stashed cars...... Just saying.
I have considered myself a "flipper" on a couple of occasions and have saved and placed some rare mopars in good hands.
Examples......
71 V code 4speed Challenger found rotting in a shed.
70 V code 4speed Cuda found in the original owners daughter garage with 19K miles.
69 A12 Superbee
70 U code, (yes, that's correct), Road Runner found by word of mouth under a pine tree and going to rot.
Plus several more...... All in good hands now.

You just ate the bait :p

I was almost sure that someone humorless takes my comment literally :D

It is sometimes funny to read all those flipper alerts at this forum. Sometimes they are totally wrong alerts like in this case. The seller of this Monaco has had it for several years and even shared pictures of it at this forum.

If I am buying a car which I like and want, it does not disturb me if the seller is called a "flipper". All I care is the condition of the car versus the price. If someone is going to earn a dime from the car, I am not jealous. Like you commented, the market will adjust the price.

Aye aye, sir. Everyone who is selling a used car is a possible flipper and we all dislike them.

But how long time one should own a car not to earn a title of a flipper? I can see that the owner/seller of this nice looking Monaco has been a member here since 2011

ment no disrespect...saw the add year or two ago and posted it up....seen it up again and thought may be a flip...nothing more...generaly if l bother to post anything up like this its more for refrence for myself and the forum as some folks here keep track of whats still about...as for flippers..honestly dont care one way or other

My NYB came from a flipper. He even admitted it after I bought it....plus the title still had the original owner's name on it.

Man I'm confused. I don't know who to disagree with?

Lemme tell ya, I don't buy cars to loose money. I also know I could make more money flipping something besides ol' C-bodies. But then I wouldn't enjoy it.

I get a lot of my enjoyment just getting these old beasts roadworthy again. Perhaps I love the smell of rancid trans fluid and gasoline?

To be honest, when you can add some value to a car, you help ensure it doesn't end up an engine donor. That '68 300 was pretty sad looking when I bought it. Solid as it was, I could easily imagine some dirt bag pulling the very strong 440. At $4500, (plus new tires and some heavy shippin') that's not likely anymore.

They're only worth what people pay for them.

You misunderstood me, Will. What I was trying to express was the word "flipper" itself has a sinister connotation. Not who is and who is not a flipper.

Personally, my track record for keeping cars is probably amongst the worst here.
But every car that left was an improvement over how I got it.

I know you mean no ill will Stan. My comment was aimed more at the folks who have created the "sinister connotation" notions.
