Opp's still haven't quite got this upload a photo thing fully grasped.
Trying hard to find a set of Road Wheels period correct of coarse..I would prefer the correct cbody wheels but I think even the A,B or E would look fine..I will be searching high and low while the car is in hybernation. ..all the best.Beautiful paint color and interior on that NY'er! Thanks for the photos.
Mine originally came with those same wheel covers but the previous owner installed aluminum road wheels, which I love.
The covers don't look bad on yours, though.
Thanks for the advice I will keep your opinion highly regardedNo no, don't do the other wheels body roadies or stock caps
I am leaning towards next spring to place some cooper's or BFG tires on the orginal rims and leave the caps on..something like 235/70 in the rear and 225/70 in the front or maybe 255/70 in the rear and 235/70 in front I like the look of a slight rake nothing to intense. .not sure if I want the white letters in or out..any thoughts. Thanks for the advice I will keep your opinion highly regarded
I already placed one extra leave on each side because the rear springs were tired..that's as far as the rake goes .I am not trying to turn this code into a hot rod or anything just trying to eliminate some body roll (rear swaybar next). The extra springs does not effect the comfort level but improves the handling quite a bit. A 70'S series tire I'M looks alot better than a 235/75 or a 225/75 as long as a fella keeps a good wall height a slight rake again IMO makes the car even better looking..does anyone out there know a good sight to pick up white/wall 70's series tires (coker?)..I appreciate your folks insight..thanksRaised white letters on a New Yorker? Fail in my book, white walls only. It can only go downhill from here with the choices of tires you have in mind. Those wheel covers don't look too bad, but I don't think they are correct to a 71 New Yorker. I always worry when a really nice survivor like yours ends up with a guy that wants to put RWL tires on it and give the car some rake. Next will be headers and flowmasters. I've seen it too many times.
