G-VON or M51 make a sunroof car. Some sunroof cars have the ASC sunroof yet do not have a G VON. The FQ5 1971 Newport 'vert that I bought with @detmatt help and is now owned @saforwardlook has a G VON but no M51 code on its tag.

This 1972 NYB one has both G VON and M51. Case closed

so because of the G VON replacing a C VON we cant tell if this was originally a canadian car or not i take it ?

You sure about that? Photo says this is a Brougham. Different than a regular NY?

yep there should be a thin trim strip above the wider lower 1 , all 72 & 73 nys had em
like on my non brougham 72

Yes they are standard.
Side molding with vinyl insert (different colors).

They are also on the tag of the black one
