72 NewYorker roof emblem removal - barrel clips or nuts ?

can someone advise how the New Yorker logo is held in place -
do i need to remove the interior side panel to undo nuts or is it pressed into barrel clips ?

Very likely nuts, accessible behind the headliner or interior sail panel. Remove the trim between the top of the back seat/package tray and the headliner's sail panel and you can lift up the sail panel at the bottom.

@71Polara383 and @david hill both saw the roof of Buttercup, my 1972 NYB, when the trim was removed to replace the vinyl top. They posted about that work in this thread, but should be able to let you know if the info you need is not there.

Marko, You're right.
I have removed that exact emblem from a 1972 NY. No speed nuts and no need to remove sail panel.
