Is the wagon windshield unique? Nothing else is the same?

I have a mostly complete 70 Fury wagon for parts with a good straight roof if anyone wants to tackle this project and needs metal and side/rear glass. The car is located in Southern Alberta a couple of hours from the Montana border at the I-15 crossing.Obviously it would have to wait until the borders are open again and logistics figured out so kind of a long shot but I thought I'd put it out there.

Here's a nice roller that can be saved with the use of the crushed wagon parts...

Yes, It is specific to the wagon and 4 door sedan. 2dr and convertible are different and available. Wagon/4dr has not been available for years from the aftermarket. Mine cracked years ago and I had to get a good used one from another car.

i could use the gas tank, under hood wiring harness, shoot about everything and if it has the hideaway headlights, taillight lenses, logos, steering column, maybe the drivetrain. would be interesting to do a community parting, get it centrally located, split the cost and go to town.

p. s. man, i really feel for you. sorry that it happened. :(:(:(:(

Appraiser looked at the car. He submits his report to the insurance company, for them to make a determination. I should hear something this coming week. I plan to do the buyback so the car is not sold for scrap. That will involve sending in the title for them to process to MD Motor Vehicles for it to be changed to Salvage. Eventually, MD will send me a new title which will allow me to fully transfer ownership of the car.

If you decide to part the car out after insurance. I would like to purchase the front seats if they are bucket seats along with the center console. Would like pictures of the front seating area. Again I would like to buy the front seats for CB Savage . I feel like a someone kicked me in the stomach looking at the pictures. Sorry for your loss.

What a cryin shame! LOTS of parts people can use if you decide not to fix it!

If someone buys this car to part out i'm interested in the hide away headlights and all components to go with them. Also the windshield washer jug.

Unless the insurance company comes back with some crazy number, It's very likely that I will be purchasing the car and will gladly sell off anything that I don't need. Another person already contacted me with interest in the hideaway set-up, but I have another car with hideaways that I would likely be willing to part with.

Shouldn't be too long before the insurance company responds. You never know how much they will want. Back in '08 I sold a 1996 Passat to a friend and it was rear-ended six months later. The buy-back was a whole $77 on a $3000 car. Plus he had to pay the $90 bill at the body shop that checked the car out for the insurance company. The buyback on my father's '95 Fleetwood was $750 on an $8000 car.

I've never had any luck with buy backs. They simply refuse to do it. Though I know its going to a yard to be parted.

I don't think the insurance company has any choice. You are not buying the car back, It's your car. If you want to keep it the only say the insurance company has is what the salvage value is.

Actually, azblackhemi, it depends on the state (regulations) and the insurance company...
In some states the car *has* to go thru auction so if you want it you have to bid on it..
Supposedly this is done to decrease chance of insurance fraud..

And I think that is what happens here.

Well I did a quick google search and all I found so far is Illinois won't let you keep your car but there are exclusions. For example you can keep a car that has is totaled for hail damage or if the car is more than 9 years old. There may be others but I haven't found them. In Arizona you sure can as I've done it.
