I seem to remember me making the 360-2 vs 383-2 argument against Gary and you took the side of the BB.

My 71 360 would scream and pulled hard while the 383-2 in the 70' is weak.

No one had my back on those discussions

please verified (show me) Dave.

I got the 360 Fury in 2008 and wondered myself how well it ran. And it wasn't rebuilt or anything. Could beat my old 70 Sport Suburban as well as my 69 T&C with 383-2 anyday.

Since that day I pull my hat off to the 360.
But the 360 only. Not 318. And the story gets different if a 383-4 or a 440 comes into play in the comparison.

Now a 318 is a different story. Not enough torque to have decent acceleration IMHO

If I have the choice I always prefer the 440 most

The big asset with a 360-2 bbl package was the higher stall speed torque converter that always came with it in a C body. Makes all the difference. Kind of like using the higher stall converter in the 383-4 bbl package as standard whereas the 383-2 bbl package comes with a low stall converter. The higher stall converter makes more difference than the cam or exhaust manifolds around town.

I cant prove it, Id have to go through every page here and even then many are long gone. So itll have to reverb around in my brain of me taking the BB vs Small block beating.

no reason to mess with the engine. Had a 360 in a 72 Fury once and it ran faster than other C-bodys with a 383-2bbl.
I had 2 73 Newports w 400 2 and they faster than the 69 383 4 and my 72 400 v2

wow. I would of bought that car a month ago if I had not got something elese. One of my all time fave Mopars. The wheels on it ruin the look.

In 71 dad went with the 360 in a Sport Fury which i thought ran pretty well. I was in H.S. and it could chirp the tires enough to impress the guys. It seemed to run out of breath in the big car as if i wound it out. Next year dad ordered a Newport with a 400 2bbl. This car felt much stronger all though the gears. It was the first mopar dad was able to order with radials and this car handled much better than previous "C" bodies.
