Something similar happened with KT9 Dark Chestnut Metallic: the K is generally used for a several colors introduced at the start of the 1974 model year, but the color AND the code were already used on the 1973 Fury Special, introduced about half-way in the 1973 model year.

Just an update, and I am sorry this is so late. This car won 2nd place in its class this year at Calisle. I am so pleased. It really is a great car. If it wasn't so clean on the paint, I would drive it more.
