Well I found a nice 440 72 New Yorker with a little over 70k miles. It has some pretty neat power bucket seats, original paint, no rust, power windows, tilt telescopic wheel, etc. I also picked up a pair of C body hp manifolds.

Really sharp car brother. What's the plan? Are you saying that's a parts car?

Really I'm at a loss on what to do. I have way too many cars. I'm really committed to restoring the 72 Fury, that I have. This car has the engine, trans, radiator, & probably driveshaft that I need. Plus a few extras. The New Yorker does need some brake work (no biggie), the front tires are shot, and the atc module (any idea where to locate one & how much?) leaks coolant and has been bypassed. OTH it is nice, the seats are really comfortable, chrome is nice. The 440 w/holley runs down the road good. It has a nice flowmaster exhaust. A little tlc & it would be fun at the car shows. I did transfer the car & have it insured. The kids call it the Thrift Shop hot rod. I don't know if that's good or bad, but is pretty funny anyways.

I am new and I don't want to butt into your personal business but man that's a great looking car .. take stormer up on his offer or drive that thing while you are working on the Fury :)

Damn, that is really nice -- good catch!

What year & shape 440? I'm not doing anything like taking it apart for some time, I'm in the midst of another restoration on a 70 Mini. That car is stripped down to the shell & for room, sanity, and domestic tranquility is being done first :).

The 440 is from a 73 Imperial. The previous owner claims that it runs well but I bought it as a parts car & have never run it.

Where are you located?

Wise decision. Get hers done and she's hooked and maybe even encouraging you to get the next one(s) going :)

That is a nice score including the ever elusive manifolds!

That would be a great engine for the New Yorker :). The 440 in the car is stamped 71, and is pretty close to what the Fury had originally (E85 code vs E86 code). I'm outside Louisville, about 20 miles. Right now I'm going to play with the car over summer, and keep looking for parts. I know a guy that will give (trade) me a 440 out of a motor home with low miles, if I do some difficult work on his car that no one wants to do. I told him I might be interested if the block is a 440-3 (forged internals, 6 pack rods, windage tray came in that engine). He's checking on it. No hurries. Thank you for the interest.

I am salivating over the seats, 71 up C body buckets are extremely hard to find
They are very comfortable, no rips, and the power still works. They make the car feel like a bigger version of the Dodge Charger.

What a great looking car. I've never paid much attention to the post 1970 chryslers (low compression smog motors, safety bumpers, chintzy front ends etc), but now I have changed my mind. Very well appointed too, love those steering columns with the stainless collar and those steering wheels. The bucket seats also look cool...does it have a floorshift/console?

Great car! I don't suppose you are planning on selling the manifolds are you?
