I shot him an email

Thanks a lot Barnfind..!

Not just for writing him, but also because that short line you wrote, taught me to email to Craigslist advertisers.. I wanted to mail him too, but didn't see any email addresses or any flashing "send the dude an email button".. but your reply sparked some needed fresh curiosity, and after poking around in the ad for a few seconds.. voila..!

:sSig_thanks:

Everytime I've been looking at CL ad's, I've been thinking "Damn, another C-body ad, without an e-mail address", ha ha..

Being "a bloody foreigner" includes next to NO experience as a CL user.. or at least, that's the case for me.. On the other hand, I'm probably an idiot, coz I am also (nearly) unable to operate the Swedish equivalent of CL ~ www.blocket.se ~ even after several attempts, and our languages (Danish / Swedish) are closely related.

But on the bright side... I did manage to find out, how to search all CL sites in one go.. that was a major breakthrough.. :)

I sincerely hope, that this guy has a 1970 non-runner coupe, that I can save :-D

But we still have one advantage by living here. We can inspect the CL cars...

I can think of several more advantages.. such as not having to import every little part, paying 25% taxes + customs fee's ALSO with 25% tax, and 180% registration tax for new cars, and even for imported classic cars, it's about the same as the price of the car.. sometimes even more than.. But that only applies to Denmark (and Norway is almost as bad). Swedes, them lucky ppl's.. they got that sorted out so beautifully ! As far as I know, Swedes only have a fee, that is actually covering the administrative process, and a safety inspection.. Respect and admiration to my neighbors !!

I suspect, that if I was to spend a longer period of time in the US, I would probably find myself travelling around quite a bit, and buying way more C-body's than I should.. after being growing up here, as a "suppressed C-body soul".. with a silly willy government, that seem to covet tiny ugly cars :-D

I've been sent lots of pictures of this car. Jim is a cool guy to talk with as well. He has about 4 more Imperials,1 New Yorker(looks to be a 1971) and a '69 Oldsmobile I believe. I've been looking for a '72 or '73 Imperial for a long time and I'm waiting to the 18th of this month as my '69 New Yorker might be sold.

This '73 still has the original tape recorder on the transmission hump. I like it and I'm just waiting to see if I can bring her over here. Hopefully it will work out unless somebody else gets it first.

Well heres his reply, not the news we were hoping for!
Three 67 two doors

Four 70-73 four doors

He did. He has another '73,2 72's(one is a 2 door..but he said his son has been working on it and really likes the car so maybe not for sale..I asked) and a '71 4 door. He was collecting these and saving from the crusher so he's NOT a demo derby guy at all.

Cool.. thanks Jason!

Very nice to hear they are safe with him! (What is wrong with ppl, and all this constant crushing and derby'ing our babies?)

I wonder how the 1971 - 4 door looks.. I wrote a few different ppl's myself yesterday, all three advertising Imp's on "American Dreamcar"..

First one was a '69 - 4 door, looking pretty good - http://www.americandreamcars.com/1969lebaron4dr2002.htm

The next one, was SOUNDING good from the description, but picture looked like something shot with an Instamatic, which later survived a nuclear blast, including the aftermath.. living underground for years, fighting with and subsequently escaping from, mutant zombies, and then finally.. scanned for the ad. - http://www.americandreamcars.com/1969lebaron0103.htm

Lovely blue ext / white int coupé... but of course, my email was rejected.. did not exist.. Since it was a coupe, I tried to insert a "." between first and last name, and then "_".. but all was rejected.. :-(

Last one I mailed, was a 13.000 mile 4 door 1971, looking AND sounding great.. - http://www.americandreamcars.com/1971lebaron.htm - EDIT: Just god a very positive and friendly answer, but this car has been sold. :-(

It looks a lot like one, sold by the same "Colorado NGD-cars dude", who sold the white 1970 (that I should have had.. )

The green one doesn't look too bad actually. It needs a top from what I can tell but it's all there. Stuff like that can be fixed.

I checked the american dream car page during my search as well. The whole page was a dead end... no response or loong time sold cars. this page is totally outdated!

If you've found a car your're seriously interested in, you should post as less info as possible until you bought it! Way too many lurkers around here! Ask me how I know it..!

Hi Kasper,

I checked out the blue 69 Imperial coupe.
The ad was fresh when I wrote him.
The seller (Robert) lives in the french part of canada which didin't make conversation easy. He was a car salesman.
Check the rear tire on the pic, it is a winter tire, got a pic from underneath and my interest died. The white interieur was very nice though.

Did I mention it was back around 2006 ?

Ha ha, thanks Carsten.. Yeah, I think I remember seeing it before as well, way way back..!

Sad to hear about the rust. Hope it was fixed! Must have been a STUNNING car, back when it left the factory !
