I have never done to the trouble to fully research/ mic things, but I believe the Imperial spindles were of different dimensions than the C body and therefore that would translate to different bearings etc.

Again I'm not sure...it's been like 27 years since I had my 73 Imperial.

Thats what I was thinking but I wasnt sure. Ive never had an Imperial, and lets face it, if it were that simple everyone would switch I presume
